Man, they've all gone mad with this diffuser mania. I do appreciate Renault for trying to concentrate on something else (rear wing) even tough that W-design looks really odd.

Hey if it brings those magical .6 of a second who needs Alonso? :D
I doubt that rear wing can be so effective tough. Kubica is a great substitute for Alonso , if they turn him up a good car he can surely deliver.

WOW McLaren, now that's a diffuser.

What are these side intakes for?

And the headrest. True Merc have to be comfortable, but bad for them if car has Merc's it-feels-like-a-boat suspension. :p

I have to say I love that Renault rear wing. Very nice. Although a lot of the other teams will have cooler rear wings soon; McLaren are using their first 09 wing which is clearly just cause they aren't bothered about aero for this test...

From the other thread:

In that case, isn't that good? No downforce, no drag.

That the idea of "dead zone". Stalling the wing is something different, you don't have downforce (or lose lift in plane's wing) and you have even bigger drag then earlier. So I can't understand this could be useful in F1 car, not mentioning how it can be possible without movable aero parts.

For me all this are just rumours that came form rumours about mythical "dead zone". :p

It's all McLaren FUD to be honest, they've probably done something clever but they're hardly going to tell anyone what it actually is.

Epic. I had a suspicion that the rear lower wing was involved, but that like a Big McDiffuser Super Sized

A few people says that now the McL diffuser is public, the other teams will start copying it, but the problem is that if you're gonna have such a MASSIVE diffuser you need to put a damn lot of work into how to feed it correctly.
