Fastest and easiest way to defrost my car windows

What the hell is that???

That my friend is a control unit for a Webasto engine heater such as this one

Engine heater, usually referred here as Webasto or Eberi, since those are two biggest manufacturers for the things, Webasto and Ebersp?cher.

It uses petrol to warm up the entire car, engine bay, interior through the A/C, to the normal running temperature. Depending on how frozen the car is it takes about 5-15 minutes to fully warm up and one go uses about 1/10 liters of petrol, so basically nothing.

They cost quite alot, about 1000-1500?, and even for the basic model you get that control unit, which is smaller than a credit card and sticks on to your dashboard. From there you can either manually start it or put a timer on it, for example program it so that it starts warming up 15 minutes before you have to go to work. And the bells and whistles model gets you remote and everything so you can press a button while drinking your morning coffee and the car warms up. And it warms up to a point you can hop in wearing a t-shirt and slippers.

And since the engine is already in the running temperature, even the oldest italian car starts up fine and dandy, give that the engine itself isn't broken.

Very nice things these heaters, they can be bolted on to pretty much any car on the planet, petrol or diesel, SUV or or 2-door coupe. Fits right in the engine bay and you order it with a car specific fitting kit, so if you know your way around the engine bay, you can do all the work yourself.
