Random Thoughts... [Entertainment Edition]

So I need a new TV show, Family guy and The Apprentice have a couple of episodes left, The Office is done.

Netflix UK, is fucking dreadful, the one night of Netflix USA I had was mindblowing. Anyway, the UK one has Breaking Bad and Arrested Development.
I decided to go with AD, I'd watch it just for Portia de Rossi.

Gob: And if I'm going to be staying here...
Lucille: Staying here? What, did that Mexican throw you out?
Gob: She's not "that Mexican", Mom. She's my Mexican. And she's Colombian or something. Anyway, it's over.
Lucille: You've got three days.
Gob: Hey... If I can't find a horny immigrant by then, I don't deserve to stay here.

I finished AD, the third series was fucking awful.

I'm now onto Breaking Bad, only seen the pilot, but it seems fucking amazing.
Reminds me of Falling Down.

Oh you're gonna love BB. You're in for one hell of a ride... ;)

They are not affected, yet the storylines (for the Burton movies) are very similar to the Nolan ones. Yes, I'm being an argumentative ass but it's because this bothers me. They are sort of like remakes...but not at all because the events are different, but the characters are the same...WHAT THE HELL? Make up your mind!

I do have to recognize though that it is fairly well done. I can't imagine how they are going to pull a similar stunt in the next Fast and Furious where Letti is somehow alive again.

Good lord when are you gonna give up and admit you're wrong?

Do you also think the new Spiderman movie should be considered as a part of the original 3 Sam Raimi movies? Or that the newest Hulk movie is a sequel to the 2003 movie with Eric Bana?

Batman Returns (1992) is a sequel to Batman (1989)...I guess you can say that Batman & Robin (1997) is sort of a sequel to Batman Forever (1995) (some same actors, same director), but Forever isn't a sequel to the first two Burton films, just like how the Nolan films are not a sequel to the Schumacher films; they are called REBOOTS. A sequel means that it continues the story from the previous film, a reboot means that they are starting fresh with a new story but with the same characters.

If you still don`t get it:

Batman
Batman Returns (sequel)

Batman Forever (reboot)
Batman & Robin (sequel)

Batman Begins (reboot)
The Dark Knight (sequel)
The Dark Knight Rises (sequel)

Compared to:

Die Hard
Die Hard 2 (sequel)
Die Hard 3 (sequel)
Die Hard 4 (sequel)
Die Hard 5 (sequel)

The Nolan films are a trilogy; the first 3 Die Hard movies don`t count as a trilogy since there`s 2 sequels added on.

Got it now?

Another example of this is the James Bond movies. Do you think that every Bond movie ever made is connected? If you do, well you`re wrong again because every time they got a new actor to play Bond that means they finished the storyline with the previous actor and are starting a new storyline with a new actor. Casino Royale isn`t a sequel to Die Another Day; the 3 Brosnan films are their own trilogy just like the new Skyfall will complete the Craig trilogy.

Batman Forever wasn't a reboot. Yes they had a new lead, but it continued off the last movies.

I sort of anticipate the Black Ops 2. I know that COD has been rubbish lately, but that's treyarch, they always make better games than Infinity Ward, and, since the BF3 has made a tough competiton, they will have to start improving the same old recipe if they want to stay afloat.

Saw Smokin' Aces today, and it was a really good movie with alot of know actors... for anyone who hasn't seen it i can recommend it!

With the direction that Dirt has gone in, I have lost most of my enthusiasm for Grid...

They said that the Showdown is the last of "Ken Block yo dude post that on youtube it rocks" sort of Dirt and the next installment of the rally game series will feature, well, the actual rally.
And there is no place where to put DC shoes ad on a racing game.

Their teaser trailer is a burnout. Hardly promising :dunno:

I guess I can't think of anything Grid would do for me that Forza doesn't already. It would be cool if they brought back the variety from the TOCA series.

Forza is the second-best handling driving game I've ever played, second only to Gran Turismo. There are probably PC sims out there that are better but I would be (pleasantly) surprised if GRID 2 even comes close.

PC support is a plus, I didn't think of that since I had GRID on PS3 before I got my gaming PC. Graphics I can take or leave as long as they aren't terrible.

Haven't played Live for Speed, GT-R, iRacing, or other "racing" sims. I tend to prefer games that focus more on road cars like Gran Turismo/Forza. But I wouldn't put GRID in that category either, they will put a lot of emphasis on mass appeal going by their past games.

Wat :p I agree with you. I also like driving road cars. And LFS has them! (Well a few) Its one of the reasons why I sometimes still just load the game and drive around in a track. I also have couple of mods on GTR that gives me road cars but yeah its no where close to GT5/Forza. I think LFS is the only game (In PC) that comes close in that respect.
