Amazing group for Arsenal
High proportion of Gunners' fans in FinalGear. :glare:

* * *

.. and I designate* UCL Group G as ?The Group of Death?, since the pre-Mourinho Real didn?t manage to get a seeding this year after below par performances last year. Also, Ajax are a bit handy sometimes; woe to be an Auxerre fan, who will now probably win the group now I?ve said that!
*actually BBC Sport beat me to it.

Europa League 2010/11 Qualifiers News

Liverpool and Man City are through to the next Group stage,

.. but Aston Villa who got toasted by Newcastle on Sunday are OUT, as are all the Scottish teams competing in this round. :(

Full list of teams posted here, when I can find them on a website somewhere.

Loss to fucking Man city, clean sheet and 3 goals. Fucking great start to another footie season.

Edit: Needed to reword that, I'm a suffering Liverpool fan. I think as a Chicago sports fan I was inherently drawn to blue-collar clubs with historic pasts and shit present-time.

Arsenal watch out for SC Braga :p
Sevilla were over confident and look what happened :D
Sporting also went and beat the Danes 3-0 today to qualify for Europa
Go portuguese clubs!

Congrats on qualifying for the group stage of the Europa and don't worry, when Man U last won the EPL, they had a bad start as well.

Early days dude, keep Torres & Gerrard fit and all will be well. Hodgson is a good coach who made the final of the Europa Final last year with Fulham, FFS!
(Sorry Fulham fans!)

Our clubs suck so much at football.

And I think congratulations are in order for Atletico Madrid for winning the supercup right?
(despite it being related to the 2009 Europa league and UCL)

But you are good at rallying, skiing and Wallander. :p

Yeah, congrats to Athletico!

It'll be great to see the arse of London and the arse of Minho duking it out, deciding, once and for all, just who is the biggest Arse in Europe!

What, no love for the Wenger, then?

^
Probably because they want to win the Europa League? :dunno:

Arsenal play the youngsters in the English League Cup, which is the lowest regarded tournament in England, played for by the top clubs.

I guess so. They should at least be clear that they want to do it, though, instead of pretending that the league is more important and that Europa is a distraction. Ehh... damn it.

In the UCL tonight:
Tuesday, 14 September 2010

Barcelona 5-1 Panathinaikos
Benfica 2-0 Hapoel Tel-Aviv
Bursaspor 0-4 Valencia
FC Copenhagen 1-0 Rubin Kazan
FC Twente 2-2 Inter Milan
Lyon 1-0 Schalke 04
Man Utd 0-0 Rangers
Werder Bremen 2-2 Tottenham

* **

A good start by Spurs, tight group that one, with Inter and Twente drawing as well.

Not a great result for Man U, drawing at home with Rangers, who are probably one of the weaker of the teams in the group.

Chelsea & Arsenal each have games on wednesday, should be interesting.
:)

Quite a good result for FC Copenhagen to beat Rubin Kazan! Rubin Kazan is placed fifth in regards to who spend the most money on transfers this last window. And They're russian champions.

This is boding well for Danish football :)

I just saw highlights from the Barca game, dear lord they do play some fantastic football. Fantastic goals, and they should have scored 3-4 goals more than they did. You could have doubts when they were just coming from a loss to Hercules in the spanish league, but that certainly didn't seem to make any difference.. :p

Wednesday, 15 September 2010

AC Milan 2-0 Auxerre
Arsenal 6-0 Braga
Bayern Munich 2-0 Roma
CFR Cluj-Napoca 2-1 Basle
Marseille 0-1 Spartak Moscow
MSK Zilina 1- 4 Chelsea
Real Madrid 2-0 Ajax
S. Donetsk 1-0 Partizan Belgrade

Chelsea, without Drogba, go a bit crazy anyway in the Czech Republic, but let in a consolation goal. They aren?t normally that generous this season.

The Arsenal also go crazy at the Emirates and bang in six, it sometimes sucks to be in the UCL when drawn against some of the best teams.

FG Gunners fans =
