2011-2012 NHL Regular Season Thread

that's just dumb. do not agree with this at all.

Nashville has 7 days to match. Either this is Weber forcing Nashville into a contract on his terms, or he hopes it's too high for Nashville to match and he can skip town.

Nashville matches before the weekend is out. 4 first round picks look nice, but they don't always pan out. And while the team would survive losing both Suter and Weber, the fanbase that has grown in the last few years won't. Not sure about how good the team would be, probably be a few years before they got out of the first round of the playoffs again, assuming they even got in.

Pretty much this when I heard the news. Suter? Ok, many teams can lose a defenseman and live, but Weber too?

Tense times among the fanbase, that's for sure. For a year and a half now we've been assured the big three would be locked up and the absolute core of the team going forward. Rinne is. Suter's gone. Weber's half out the door. Some are calling for Poile to be fired no matter what, some are doubting the owners' statement that they have the money. Basically, it comes down to are they serious about being contenders or not? Time to put up or shut up.

What is the deadline?
