Choose a car for 63,421 pounds

Hmm, interesting. In Australia, for that money you are looking at something like a 530d, when if I'm not mistaken, you can get a base S-Class for the same price in the UK. Damn taxes, damn southern hemisphere. I'd have:
Citroen C6 2.7DTT - $108750 or ?60346 without haggling, depreciation would be a nightmare though.
Jaaaaaag XF 3.0DTT Luxury - just over budget, but you could haggle off a few grand.
Land Rover Discovery 4.4 HSE - $92990 or ?51612
Merc E250 CGI Avantgard coupe - $94500 or ?52000
Kia Magentis 2.0 CRDi - $26990.... wait a minute...

1. Corvette C6
2. BMW 335i
3. Volvo V70 T6

63k? is around 70k?, you don't get much with that over here in finland..

I'd go for a 335i M-Sport sedan with leather seats, automatic aircon, navigation, Hi-fi soundsystem and xenons with 6spd manual.

The configurator gave me the final price of 74k? which is 4k? over the budjet. 22k? of the price is the goddamn taxes.

Sadly no leftover money for a set of BBS's, I guess I'd habe to stick with the normal M-Sport wheels.

I've no interest in buying a completely brand new car that is only going to lose 30% of its sticker price within the first 12 months. Still, I'll bite. The following cars are within the limit. Just.

Probably a 2009 Jaguar XF X250 which are around the AUD$90-110k mark. I was filling up my car at a Shell one afternoon in Adelaide. There was the usual array of Falcodores and a couple of Korean shopping trolleys, when suddenly a black Jag XF stalks its way menacingly onto the forecourt growling softly, seemingly eyeing up the prey, before the owner just gunned it back onto the road and away (the V-Power pumps were out of order). It was an awesome sight and I fell in love with it there and then.

Could probably wangle an Audi A5 MY10 S-tronic Quattro for around AUD $110k if I feel motivated enough to beat the dealer down.

Compared to the first two options, my third will seem a lit low rent, but I really love the Holden Calais V. Fully optioned, natch, in black or maroon (whatever the marketing equivelent is). Superb value (probably only beaten by the Ford G6E-T, though that does nothing for me styling wise) punching above it's weight by taking on the German luxury executive market. This would set me back around AUD$55000.

In Singapore, for S$145,000, you can have a new BMW 320i SE, or a new S2000 2.2.

But if you go used, you can have an M3 or a clean low-mileage C55!

63 421 British pounds = 397 725.359 Israeli shekels

I'd have a Lancer Evolution X. (372,300 ILS)

Wow, so Israel cars cost just about as much as in Singapore?
397,725.359 ILS = 145,928.971 SGD
And a JDM EVO X 2.0 GSR (M) costs $146,988.

What about other cars? BMW 320i? It costs $144,000 here, same in Israel too?

63,421.00 GBP = 113,835.50 AU

:hmm: this is even trickier than the last one ... because a lot of the cars I want are significantly cheaper. Are we allowed to spend less than ?63,421 and keep the change/spend the change on another vehicle?

Yes. The question really is if you had a maximum of that much to spend on a car cause the rest of your life was sorted financially, what would you get? If all you want is a fiat 500, no matter how much money you had, that is entirely reasonable.

Where are you coming up with these numbers?

It's last week's budget backwards.

An automatic BMW 320i costs 289,900 ILS, or roughly 107,000 SGD. And I thought that BMWs were overpriced here...

(?63,421 = about $105,981 USD as I type this.)

1) 2010 Ford Mustang GT Premium Covertible (5-speed manual, pkg 401A, comfort pkg, electronics pkg, rear view camera, accessory pkg 2) - $40,720 USD (linkage)

2) Fiat 500 (1.4 16v Sport, black leather/black ambience interior, 16" alloy wheels (seven holes with spokes), reverse parking sensors, leather gearknob, electrochromatic dipping rearview mirror, Xenon headlights) - ?13,340 (about $22,255.91 USD as I type this)

3) 2010 Jaguar XK (interior, advanced tech pkg, HD radio, aerodynamic kit) - $86,800 USD

Then Evo's are overpriced, or maybe it's because they are further away from Japan than Singapore
What about Audi or Volkswagen then?

A6 3.0TFSI Tiptronic costs $238,000 (651,173 ILS).

New gen. Golf GTi DSG 3 door costs $139,000 (353,849 ILS).

Audi A6 3.0 TFSI V6 Quattro Automatic - 507,300 ILS (186,000 SGD) - lower

Volkswagen Golf VI GTI 3dr DSG - 205,000 ILS (75,200 SGD) - lower

I call lolwut, how is it possible to buy cars in Singapore? XD

(?63,421 = $105,000 USD = 3031350 roubles (Russia)

Lexus IS F Luxury $104.976 and a full tank.

Wow, for $75k, you can only buy a new shape Mazda 3 1.6 auto :)P), and for $186k, you can only have the new A6 with the non-quattro, normal spec 2.0TFSI.

That's why most of the population takes the bus, and the train, leaving the roads free and rather uncongested to those who deserve it :p

 what do people typically drive in denmark? (sorry for going off topic)

O/T: Mostly boring and small cars. Here's a list of the 10 most sold cars in april this year:

1 Citro?n C1
2 Hyundai i20
3 Toyota Yaris
4 Peugeot 206
5 Peugeot 207
6 Peugeot 107
7 Skoda Fabia
8 Suzuki Alto
9 Hyundai i10
10 Kia Picanto

It fluctuates of course, last years top 10 was sporting exotic stuff like Audi A4's, VW Passat's and other bigger cars.

The concept of individual transport has been deemed a decadent luxury you can live without and therefore they tax the living s*** out of cars (See sig). (It may also be to limit inflation since we have no car industry, but mostly to make my life misserable).

Oh, and jumping into the Singapore vs. Israel tax fight:

Audi A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro Auto. : 922,946 DKK = 258,298 SGD = 705,154 ISL = 186,914 USD
Volkswagen Golf VI GTI 3dr DSG : 437.000 DKK = 122,299 SGD = 333,876 ISL = 88,500 USD
automatic BMW 320i: 484.550 DKK = 135,607 SGD = 370207 ISL = 98,131 USD
EVO X: They don't even bother trying to sell it...

Wow, way to come off as a pious asshole <_<.

It probably wasn't your intention, but try to be a little more careful with your phrasing next time ;)
