Sigma just released pricing for their new 35mm f/1.4 - $900, which at half the price of the Nikkor has got me drooling again.

Yeah indeed they did, but german list price is 999? <_<.

Reminds me of Canons 2 new lenses and their pricing. 24-70 L f4 for 1499? and 35mm F2 for 849? :?

I have a 50mm f/1.2 Pentax-A, but that Leica lens is just.. wow!

I don't suppose that's totally out of line with the market, they usually equate $ to ?. The 27-40 and 35/2 are $1500 and $850 here. Whether that's fair pricing is another story entirely.

Just rented a Sigma 70-200mm for a marathon tomorrow. Man, I didn't realize how heavy this thing is. I'm sure it's been mentioned, but, one of those things you don't realize until you've got in your hands. So far, I'm liking it (except for the weight). I'm trying to decide if I want to own one, and so far, I'm leaning towards yes.

It is on the heavy side, a tad heavier than the Tamron and Nikon, but lighter than the Canon equivalent. Less than 10% in it each way. If you want that sort of performance, you'll have to deal with the weight. ;)

My lord that is awesome..

I want that for my D800E..

Wouldn't do you any good, image circle wouldn't come close to covering FX. Besides, in terms of DOF and FL, a 25mm f/0.95 on u4/3 is the equivalent of a 50mm f/1.8 on FX.

If you want 0.95 on digital 35mm, you'll need a Leica body and a Noctilux - and a fat wallet!

I'll live happy with my Sigma 50- and Nikon 85mm f/1.4 :D

It's official: I have gone mad... :| GAS, impulsiveness, internet access and a few beers don't mix well. I went on Keh and bought a clean Canon FD 500mm f4.5L...

It's here... This should cure my lust for longer focal lengths (for a while)... Serious piece of kit this. For just under $1000, I got it complete with the original hard case (with keys), both caps (the "leather sock" on the front), the extension lens hood (there is one built in, the other one goes on top of that), carrying strap (that has obviously never been used), as well as the instruction manual and warranty papers.

Here's one with it attached to the E-M5, the Ais 300/2.8 is there only for reference... :p
