$70k is more than enough for a Vette, which as we know comes with leaf springs.

//sorry. :p

Thats the 3rd time in this thread you have deliberately mentioned leaf springs. Its not funny and its not starting anything so don't do it again, thanks.

And $70K AUS ;)

I hear that this week's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car will be Ron Jeremy. ;)
Where'd you hear that? The star is film star, Brian Cox.

 It was a joke, hence the winking smiley!

I think it's even funnier that the real guest's name is "Cox."

The MPS was just recently reviewed by the Times (http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12929-1470520,00.html). Personally, I'd rather have a lower-performing german car than any of the above mentioned ones. The Vectra might be a VXR, but it's still a f#?@ing Vauxhall/Opel! :puke:
I agree with you but for the same price, you'll probably only get entry level engine choice in a German.

I think apart from the MPS - Australia doesn't get any of the cars being compared. I haven't heard anything of a hotted up Holden Vectra, not that I want one, and the Mondeo isn't even sold here in our market.
I think a medium sized car would just steal the Falcon's sales, and the Vectra is already EXPENSIVE enough as it is. How much would the Vectra VXR cost over here? 70 grand? Hmmm, a Turbo V6 Vectra for $70 grand, or a GenIV 6.0l Caprice? Hard one that is.
$70K you rekon  Thats about 60 too much. Gimme a 6.0L Caprice :D
I wouldn't be surpised, I mean the Vectra is $45 grand in top spec (Used to be like 50 lol!). Top of the Range Astra Coupe is like 28 grand, and the VXR was proposed to be around 43 grand. That's 15 grand more, like 45% percent more or something like that. Give or take, it seems about what it would cost.

So, i'll ask again, A Vectra VXR or a Caprice? :D

Bummer. I was looking forward to Captain Slow's review of the Alfa Romeo 159, looks like I'll have to wait :(

I'm hoping to see a full Alfa Brera review sometime this year, with the possibility of Alfas comming back stateside thru Maseratti dealers this fall, it's on my short list. Especially since there's an Maseratti-Aston-Bently-Porsche-Land Rover-Lotus dealer just up the way from me :) They had a Saleen S7 in the window for a few months last fall, but it's gone now ..... haven't seen it around tho.

I thought you meant the Saleen S7 at first. Top Gear needs to test the S7! Even if its not available to them, they've tested the Honda Element and Nissan Cube, and both of those they couldn't get. Maybe next season?...

This could well be the...

Best. Episode. Ever.

(Possibly)

In the world

People are saying that it will be in this ep. Who knows?

The Veryon was at the festival of speed last week (Goodwood, Sussex) so who knows if it may have been to Dunsfold (Surrey, which is only a few miles up the road) too recently - perhaps 'Stiggy' has had a play?

Now there's a lap time I've gotta see!

I'm very glad I will be missing this episode. Who would want to see the fools messing around in another caravan related stunt?
I just feel for the people that will tune into this programme wanting some information on the cars that are for sale, although that would be a rather shocking thing to include on a motoring programme. :glare:
