Hamilton will be starting from 10th position at best, so he's unlikely to win the race. Heikki? Who knows, maybe he'll run over a black cat or something. Fact is, the French track does not suit the McLaren as well as it does the Ferrari. According to Whitmarsh, McLaren have taken steps to recify that over the winter so we should still see a competitive showing, but Raikkonen will still win.

Oh yeah, I don't deny that, it's just the way in which the guy always tears into anyone saying something good about McLaren. It's true though, we're gonna need some real luck to see Heikki win (Lewis winning is out of the question)...

From the front, Raikkonen doesn't have a reason to set fastest laps, unless he wants that DHL prize again.

As in Canada, there is a possibility that rain could affect the outcome of the weekend. Showers are forecast for Thursday, with an ambient temperature high of 23 degrees Celsius. That will rise to 24 as the weekend approaches, but where Friday will be partly cloudy, there will be thunderstorms in the area on Saturday. It will be hotter still on Sunday, at 28 degrees, but again thunderstorms - described as severe - are a definite possibility.

The schedule reverts to normal now that the calendar is back in Europe, which means Friday morning practice running from 1000 to 1130 hours local time, Friday afternoon practice from 1400 to 1530, Saturday morning practice from 1100 to 1200, and qualifying from 1400 to 1500.

The race will run over 70 laps of the 4.411 kilometre (2.741 mile) circuit, or 308.586 kilometres (191.755 miles), and will start at 1400, which is 1200 GMT.

I hope it's sunny until exactly halfway through the race, when Hamilton has to pit, it rains. And he wins.

That corner is super tricky you can go in there a few ways but right at the middle of the corner you can really lose if with the wrong line.

Because of the rain, and because of Alonso's FP2 pace. I change my race winner to Fernando Alonso. The real question is which of the following bets should I place:
-Fernando Alonso win $10
-Fernando Alonso Podium $10
-Fernando Alonso win $5, podium $5

What are you getting in terms of odds? (Having said that, I would refrain from putting money on FA myself, I'd drop a 10 on Kubi podium myself)

If you really think he's going to win, you don't know much about F1. Wait and see.

Not F1 but GP2:

Bruno Senna scored pole position, basically because he crashed into the wall on his last lap...;)
Apparently the fastest way to complete a lap in Magny-Cours is not lifting in the last chicane, which makes you fly through the finishing line and then crash into the barriers.

Ayrton Senna did the same thing during quali in Magny-Cours in 1991, but Bruno says he didn't do it intentionally today :D
