-the stunt man bit was awesome

-the police car bit was hilarious, could have been more outlandish

-hammonds hair is crazy

i also agree with p5138's post above(i am new to forums, don't know how to quote)

"Ambitious but rubbish" describes so much of this episode.

The fuel bits I thought were good, and the news was funny as always. Not sure I fully understand the Top Gear Stunt Man bit, hopefully I will in time. The SIARPC was not that great. Parts seemed to be cut weird. I don't know. The police car bit surely was funny, even if there wasn't continuity through it.

I gave it an 9, because I was laughing out loud through a lot of it, but it could've been more brilliant than what it was. I'm just glad it's back.

Started out great.

Top Gear Stuntman: was kind of blah in my opinion. I thought he would have been more interesting a character like the Stig was given all they hype before the show. They should have put something to mask his head or kit him out in a cooler suit because a white fat bloke isn't going to be a hit compared to a cool, mysterious tame racing driver some say came from space. Stig's a hero because of the anonymity and mystery and the fact that he looks cool. TG stuntman = ... Wasted oppurtunity I'd say.

SIARPC: 2's a company, 3's a crowd. Trinny & Susannah were more entertaining. Clarkson tried his best to make the interview interesting but meh.

Challenge: Always love TG challenges. This one didn't disappoint.

Overall, a little disappointed really. Didn't hit me with as much vigour or enthusiasm as the opening episodes of the other series.

One of the things that I didn't get was how Clarkson could find a Fiat Coupe (20v turbo) for only ?900. The cheapest I could find was ?3700 without MOT or tax... Same with how James could find a lexus like that.

I bought the same Lexus for resale for 200 bucks, 240k miles on it, pretty dirty interior, but I did. I'm sure they have people scouring local and national ads, sure they don't find them overnight.

Pretty Good episode IMO, only part I didn't like is the fact that Jeremy was going over that same damn switch on the steering wheel like he did in 2-3 other Ferrari reviews already.

The 5 supercars race is cool, I thought the LP640 will be the first one out.......cant believe 599 is the first one. WHAT A SHAME.....
Agreed the worst Guests in Top Gear.
So the pictures they cut out is some kind of porno graphic? =.=

Yeah, the guest segment was wayyy too long, perhaps a bit of my American ignorance but those were some boring ass stars....

And again, every episode I always get reminded why I LOVE James May, hahahha

You should check ebay, plenty of them there for less than a grand, the Lexus is even cheaper!

Anyways, good episode not great, Ferrari review felt a bit flat although its not a car I really care about, they maybe should of compared it round the track with similar offerings from rival companies? The less said about SIARPC the better, Carr and Lee Collins are absolutely awful and don't deserve to have a career in television!

Good start for the season, can't wait for the Evo!

I have a mixed feeling about the episode. Good, but a little bit boring review of the F430 Scuderia, interesting fuel saving tips, very nice 5-supercar race. The news, the stunt, SIARPC, Police cars - complete rubbish without a single funny or entertaining moment whatsoever.

I am seriously thinking, that because TG was up against Spain vs Italy (Euro2008) they showed their worst clips as they wudn't have many viewiers anyway.

IMO, season 10 opening, with their race around europe in lightweight supercars was 10 times better.

A great show to open the season, I thought. And it's clearly evident now that Top Gear is a car entertainment show rather than a car review show, and to be honest I don't really mind. If I wanted reviews I'd be watching Fifth Gear. Also, the quality of the cinematography's just improved so much overall. Even more so than season 10, which is brilliant. Segment analysis:

Supercar Gas Race - 8/10 - What a great way to start. Chuck a bunch of supercars in a race! Needed to be longer and more in-depth, though.

Prius vs. M3 - 7/10 - Interesting, and had a very important -and relevant - message to all drivers.

The News - 9/10 - On of the best news segment ever. Long and really funny. And I hope someone can find out what that picture was... :shifty:

430 Scuderia Review - 9.5/10 - Good review, interesting and great cinematic shots. But I thought they could've cut down a bit on the shots though - maybe a tiny bit too excessive?

Stunt Man - 5/10 - Was useless and not that funny to be honest. I hope he can redeem himself later on...

Star/s In A Reasonably Priced Car - 5/10 - Gaybos who weren't funny, sorry.

The Police Car Challenge - 9/10 - I loved this segment. I just loved Jeremy's "Polizia di Stato" Coup? and Hammond's Vitara. :lmao: This segment needed to be longer with more hilarious challenges!

Therefore, my overall rating of this epp: 8.07

Now, bring on next week! :D

/So why did I vote 10? My loyalty for Top Gear prevents me from give it anything below 10. :p

Not a bad start...

The police segment was great even if the editing wasn't. Jeremy's and Richard's cars were hilarious, just seeing Jeremy lose one of his wheels and Richard losing his spiky doormat was funny. Liked the fuel consumption bit being demonstrated with super cars and with Jeremy in a BMW chasing a Toyota Pius.

SIARPC was just lame. There must have been no one else available on the list to have those two on. Must try harder.

Didn't quite get the point of Top Gear Stunt Man nor did I see the point of that stunt.

Yeah, SIARPC was boring as fuck, but that may or may not have been since the majority of us have no clue who those fools were.

The problem with SIARPC is the guests. If you watch Jay leno or Late night with Conan, they always get like a very popular guest who just wants to promote something, and the they get a very interesting guest for ppl to actualy enjoy the conversation.

And it's not always superstats that turn out good. I mean Hugh Grant, very popular, but u always get the feeling, he's there to promote his movie and not really pationate about anything TG stands for. On the opposite, you get Michael Gambon, who's a lot less popular but very very interesting.

Solution: the only way to make SIARPC segment work, get some really interestng guests.

A relatively boring episode, but it had some very funny moments.

I am really starting to think that Jeremy is losing it. His reviews are not funny anymore - every Ferrari, Aston or Lambo tests are the same. I know they can't be radically different, but sometimes he uses the exact same lines.
And I don't think we (the die-hard fans) are the only ones to notice it - Top Gear has become hugely popular in the past couple of years, and others (non-fans) also spot that Clarkson is copying himself over and over again.

The episode was Ok, but hell...what a stupid 'stars'. that voice nearly broke my tv.

It felt like an episode that they cut off of the end of series 9, which is extraordinarily disappointing after the brilliance that was series 10. I hope they return to form in the coming episodes.

I remain cautiously optimistic.

Too much clarkson in the beginning, stuntman bit could have been cut out, scuderia review was bland I think as long as Clarkson has been doing reveiws he seems like hes tapering off a bit, sort of getting long in the tooth. As far as the Scud review I would have let the car do most of the talk and kept the dialog breif.

Oh well theres always next week to look forward to.
