well it all depends. I guess you can drive a Ferrari or Dodge at 130kph in 3rd gear, or 6th. I imagine 6th would be a tad quieter at that speed

besides, you only buy a Morgan if you want to be deaf for the rest of your life anyway
 
No Land Rover Defender? That would beat all of those into the ground, or even the Spanish Santana with it's older engine.

my mate has a c4 coupe and he said that one of the best things about it was just how quiet it was whilst cruising on the M-way. wind noise, tyre roar, engine noise all seem to be well controlled.

his is a petrol as well, so i guess the diesel would be even quieter at motor way speed.

I can hear my girlfriend when she rides in my '94 MX-5 Miata just fine. She always says

"WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!"
 
The list looks to be just the top and the bottom. Skipped everything between 66 and 77 dB, where most of the cars probably are :)

Yeah i remember him talking about how refreshed he'd feel because of the Fords low-noise levels. With that said, in my own experience a good sounding engine at 80 DB is infinitely better then tires/windnoise cranking out 75 DB (yes i have a decibel meter), maybe the Ford just churns out lovely v8 backdrop, and otherwise is very quiet.
