ADAC Charity Challenge 2008 (56K warning!)

Alright, as stated here before, Eye-Q and I went to the ADAC Charity Challenge 2008 today and what follows, are the pics and vids I took on this very special day.

For your information: The ADAC Charity Challenge is an event, where sports car owners meet and offer rides in their cars around a small race track, if you make a donation. You could donate 10, 20 or 30 Euros (depending on the car) and get a ride for 7 or 8 rounds around the track in the car of your choice.

As you can see, there were a Bugatti Veyron and a Gumpert Apollo, undoubtedly the stars of the show. But the event also contained many more dream cars you don't see every day, not to mention seeing them in action. I will post all the vids and pics I took in time, so better keep your bandwidth free

Frankly I have no idea but it runs with the engine of a Citroen 2CV.

No. Unfortunately I always get sick as a passenger in a car and I didn't want to throw up in a Bugatti Veyron...

That's a Lomax, it's a kit car based on the Citroen 2CV (better known as "Duck").

Well, it's from the eighties so red leather was "In" at that time. Times change but a prototype is nonetheless a prototype so in my opinion it's not carbage.

I have no idea what made that guy think he belongs there with his, ahem, creation. It didn't seem to be tuned and he actually got black-flagged for being too slow around the track.

Well, most porn stars aren't that attractive, doesn't make it less of a porn car if its ugly

I must say that I was very impressed by the sound of the Gumpert Apollo and that Racing Corvette. They surely were the loudest. Also the 911's and the Vipers made a great sound. The Lotuses were loud but did not really sound attractive. The price for best V8 sound definitely goes to the Sunbeam Tiger and the most spectacular and attention-provoking appearance was made by a tuned Golf II who was on par with the Ferraris but did not look any different than a normal Mk II Golf, until you heard its noise It was easily louder than all the Ferraris ad Porsches Also the AMG Mercedes models definitely sounded better than the BMW M models. Actually much, much better. There were lots of Z4 M's and M3's and an M5 but the E63 AMG surely made the more impressive appearance.

What I missed, were more Astons and some Lambos. Also would have been nice to see a Zonda or a Koenigsegg...

But then gain, there is always next year, because this ADAC Charity Challenge is an annual event Maybe next year more than 2 forum members will go there
