Chrome: Google's Open Source Browser!

I will have a look, but I can't imagine it will replace Firefox as my default browser.

Questions for the Google people...

(1) Will there be a Linux version?
(2) Will it break the Compose Key the way Firefox and other GNOME applications do?

Until I know more it's Konqueror all the way.

I think it'll kill computers like mine with 512MB of RAM, with tons of processes running around. (I already have 87 in idle, so I don't need more :< )

87 Processes? What the shit is wrong with you? And all on 512MB of RAM?

You're doing it Rong.

^ Yep!
It really is the way to go, Win still has a much bigger base.

I'll try their browser for sure. Although I don't think it has any chances of replacing Firefox right away. After all, no adblock plus, no fun in surfing. I just don't think a company that is financed almost 100% via ads will allow such a plugin or function...

Porn mode FTW. I'll give this a shot, and if it's faster than FF and not annoying I'll probably stick with it. I don't use many addons so they aren't a major issue for me.

Doesn't seem like very customizeable. No easy way to edit the bookmarks (only drag and drop in the menu available). I can't setup my proxy in any easy way, it uses the Windows setting for that, I prefer per program basis like FF does it. Ads are already annoying me so I'll probably wait for somekind of ad block plugin before trying again.

I installed it a little while ago and so far I like it. The whole thing seems much snappier than Firefox and there's loads more screen space available for web pages. But soon after I started using it I realized just how much I miss mouse gestures. Hopefully it won't be long until someone makes such an addon.

i am a supporter of open-source software so i downloaded this and i'm now typing this reply using it. i must say i really like the clean look and the fact that it has automatically imported all my favourites and bookmarks from firefox. i really like the layout of the program as well, real clean and does not distract you from the website you are viewing. i'll try it out some longer and it may be a keeper :)

Much less for me and you can't do anything about in Chrome. :(
Since Mozilla has been in bed with Google in the past, I won't be surprised if FF4 is based on the Chrome source.
Probably no. Mozilla has it's own code base and they are going to build on that. They are not going to suddenly start from scratch. They might take some good features from Chrome though.

yea stuff loads great on it (using it ftw) not a firefox killer though. More like they want firefox to steal its ideas...

Holy shit this thing is quick!

now i am using it for about an hour i must say that it indeed is fast, it feels faster than FF.

This seems brilliant so far. It's so much faster than IE7 and FF. The only very minor annoyance is middle click not bringing up the continuous scroll thingy.
