The Replacements - The Game

Well, that depends on the car. The two I like aren't worth much, but the other isn't too bad.

1989 Chrysler LeBaron GTC TII: $2,120
1991 Dodge Stealth R/T TT: $6,495
2008 Ford Escape XLT: $17,460

Since the Escape is the only one that would ever be parked on the street and I don't really care for it I'll go with that. As for what I would do with he money, I'd buy an M3 not sure which gen as I like the E30, E36, and E46 a lot.

Since KBB doesn't have my exact model, based off interpolation of KBB, and used car prices here in Germany, I'd probably get around 8700$, which is around 6000 euros.

What would I get for 6000 euros?

Either
this

or possibly this

which has 30 more horsepower, nicer color, nicer rims.
But it's a turbo, and GOD DAMN I WANT THE V70s 5CYLINDER GOODNESS!

The Mustang is 19 years older than KBB can be bothered to deal with, so if we go off the Grand Prix... it would be $7945 (Paid $6250 and got them to replace the ignition and shifting units free of charge; approx. $700 worth of stuff).

Anyway, I'd probably go with this, '89 Jaguar XJS for $6988.

On a side note, the mustang would probably bring $20-25000 in its current condition, so I could come up with something a bit better, although selections are limited seeing as a live in the middle of nowhere.

So now go find one that's in your price range and post it up!

Well, there's only 1000km and less than a month right now on the M3, and I got limited depreciation replacement insurance on it, so the result is.... Another E90 M3? :)

More realistically and in the realm of this game, the "black book" value on my 2007 BMW E90 335i, 22,060km, was $37,000. That's not the price they took in as the trade-in, but that's no matter here either.

Really quick search on the AutoTrader.ca website, for $37,000 or a bit less, there are the obvious choices in the same class like E90 and E60 BMWs, Merc-Benz CLKs, Infiniti Gs and Lexus ISs, and Caddy CTSs and STSs, or even newer Altima Coupes and 350Z Roadsters. None of which I would consider.

This, however....

1977 Ferrari 308 GTB, 45k miles, exactly $37,000.

Hmm, I need to grow a mustache and start wearing Hawaiian shirts!

I will never understand how you could go from a el camino to a civic! I know you claimed gas prices was the reason, but I would turn to prostitution and even larceny to keep that V8 running!!

That's sort of what I tell myself to ease the pain...The whole story is that my parents wanted to have a "inexpensive, reliable vehicle" that I could drive to and from school in. They offered to help me buy a car and I agreed, reluctantly. So basically I went from owning a car I could get $2000 for to a car I can get $7000 for. My plan is to sell the civic and buy something better inj 6 months or so.

For the car I'm currently suffering with, an '02 Hyundai Accent with roughly 50K miles, KBB has me at...
$6,750?!

I'm surprised it got that much, actually, because I couldn't see anyone in their right mind paying real money for it; but I'll play along...

With $6750 I'd get:

It's marked at $5,400... Something seems very wrong here...

Fuck that, I would push the damn thing if needed

Would it ruin the game if I mentioned the fact that said garbage truck wouldn't be able to get on top of my car?

WHAAAAAT?

Only $37,000. Well, I was going to say an M3 but I think I would fork over the extra for a 308. My dream car is an F40 but since I can't afford that I'd love to own the car it's based off of.

As for the M3 I think I would go for the E36 since it's close to that amount and I love the looks. This one looks good:

$17,000, not too bad.

If you think that's cheap, here's one for $25k. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/ferrari/308gtsi/715740.html

For me, it depends on the car:
1995 Lincoln Mark VIII @ 175k - $4460
2000 Mercury Cougar @ 104k - $7045

I'd replace the Cougar with another one because I have an irrational attachment to the car. For the Mark VIII, I'd add another $2000 and get something like this 1998 Volve C70 for $6500.

Well, I found pricing on my car through Edmunds.com since KBB/NADA has nothing. It gives me Dealer Retail for used and Private Party, cool with me using one of those?

I think I can have fun with this one :D

Use the Dealer Retail.
