Hi guys, I need some help and advice.

I've had my computer now since 2003 - was top spec when I bought it. Anyway, a few months ago, the time on the computer started messing up. It would progress a few hours and then reset to midnight and start again. The date would never change, I would have to change it manually everyday...

I bought a new Bios battery thinking that would solve the problem, but nooooo, it's still doing the same. I'm thinking that the main problem is that it's a Dell motherboard - I've heard of problems about Dell motherboards in the past..... I've reformatted my computer and bought a few HD's since it started happening but still no difference.

Spec:

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
System Manufacturer Dell Computer Corporation
System Model Dimension 4550
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2791 Mhz
BIOS Version/Date Dell Computer Corporation A05, 27/01/2003
SMBIOS Version 2.3
Windows Directory C:\WINDOWS
System Directory C:\WINDOWS\system32
Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1
Total Physical Memory 1,536.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 825.50 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB

Hopefully someone can help me...

Thanks:)

there's this "automatic" time adjustment thingy that sometimes gets messed up with summertime/wintertime.

Check it's on or not, if it is, turn it off and be ashamed that your clock may be a few seconds off.
Solved the problem for me though
