You can see the glorious (and surprising) Star Trek trailer if you check out the new James Bond flick this weekend. Some people have already had this privilege, and they managed to upload the contents of their memories via a mobile device. So now we have the trailer right here! Cautious optimism. It looks fresh and cool. Apologies for the quality ? it's hard to translate brainwaves into video, but we managed to do it.

We should be getting the trailer in high quality next week I believe but I still wanted to show people this. Looks quite interesting and of course I am going to see it.

Looks pretty action-ish ... which scares me.

It looks pretty lame. I do like the idea for the plot though, hopefully it won't just be 2 hours of space explosions.

Looks like they hammed it up way to much, looks almost

Episode 1 ish

Shit, I can't beleive i just said that.

It looks a bit like what Michael Bay did to Transformers. Thankfully in both cases, I don't remember much of the original, so I'll probably enjoy this one too.

It's 2 minutes of trailer, I'm going to guess and say the entire film won't be entirely explosions and punchups.

I'm really eager to see the film, but I get the feeling I'll either love it or hate it.

looks very, very good and is one of the movies i want to see along with Watchmen.
JJ Abrams was the right choice for this movie since what Star Trek needed was a reboot rather than the continual churning out of spin off after spin off. also thanks for posting the link, the first time i've got to see the new USS Enterprise and it looks awesome.

its also up at www.startrekmovie.com along with a bunch of new wallpapers and stuff. after seeing the hq version i am really beginning to look forward to this film. also what surprises me is just how much Zachary Quinto looks like a young Leonard Nimoy. just gotta wait 6 months now.

The trailer doesn't make me want to see the movie, but I definitely would pirate it and watch the first 20 minutes then make up my mind. :p

I don't know much about Star Trek, but I will definitely watch this. Maybe somebody can some up everything I need to know in a few sentences? lol

Well this takes place before The Original Series, so you probably don't need to know anything about the show before watching the movie.

To all the complainers in this thread:

let's learn a new word, its called 'retcon'

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retcon

Since this movie is essentially a 'reboot' story or an 'alternate universe storyline' its doesnt really matter if it has any sort of continuity with any previous ST works. Hell even 'Enterprise' is borderline retcon because it contradicts a lot of previous star trek 'history'

Ppl who are fans of anime should already be used to this if they followed famous series like Macross or Gundam, how many of the most recent series have solid connection with the series that spawned the franchise, and how many famous series origin stories have been retold or rebooted for updating with modern times.

Nothing new here folks.

apparently rumour is that this new movie is a complete Reboot of the Star Trek franchise similar as what Batman Begins is to the Batman movies and Casino Royale to the bond movies.
