CAR Magazine are having a poll to find the best hot hatch of all time. Not exactly a definitive list, and I question some of the cars on there but I think we all know what car should win ;).

Ush, such an enormous list. Hard to choose out of all of those... :hmm:

Wouldn't really call it a hot hatch, mind, I don't really consider the Delta Integrale a hot hatch either.

Easy decision

My vote went to the Lancia.

Why isn't the sierra a hot hatch? Its a hatchback, its small, and its fun as hell. Next best would have to be the escort cossy...i guess.

x2

BTW CAR Magazine themselves called the Ford Sierra Cosworth a hot hatch with their issue dedicated to all Ford RS models.

Whats small about a Sierra, it is medium sized car, if the "Cozzie" was a hot hachback then why isn't the Mondeo ST220 in the list, the Vectra VXR, or even the Subaru Impreza WRX, one that ain't on the list and should be don't laugh the MG Maestro Turbo.

My vote goes to the 205 GTI 1.6/1.9

They dont have the most power but has the most telepathic handling of all the cars there.

They've also definied the hot hatch world more clearly since the Golf

The Coupe version was as big as an escort so it fits into the hot hatch group perfectly. And when I refer to Sierra cosworth I'm talking about this one:

Not the 4x4 saloon one:

Its no bigger than an Astra or a R32? :dunno:

Golf GTi MkI based simply on the fact that there was no option for the original Mini or FIAT 500.

I went with the Golf R32. Those things have balls and sound GREAT

I'll be happy with any of the Golf's winning - they started the hot hatch after all ;)

Bah, my master plan to recruit a load of 205 votes has backfired, I underestimated the number of deluded golf lovers here !

Remember, VW invented the GTI badge, Peugeot gave them a car to put it on!
