My first car! That I can't drive! :D

Upgrade your brakes immediately. Those drums were substandard for a stock truck, much less a lifted truck with bigger wheels/tires (huge amount of unsprung weight)

... and being that big and with only drum brakes he ran straight over this guy's BMW.
That beast has a front-disc/rear-drum set up. I'm sure it still takes forever to stop though .

Trust me if you learn to drive with an old F250 you'll be set for whatever.
Yep. If you can get around in that monster, driving a small car later on will be hilariously easy. I went from my C10 to Celicas, Grand Ams and Camaros. After putting my truck through its paces, all those 'sporty' cars were amazing.

1970's Celica's are my favorite import. Solely because of looks . I don't know if you could get much out of a 100hp 2.0L R engine with bolt-ons (or even a turbo). Though I've never actually studied up on the specifics of the engine. And if I had to look at engine swaps, well, it would start with something like a de-stroked SBC. That probably (if it fits) wouldn't cost any more than a RB or JZ engine. Plus you get delicious torque in a tiny package. And once E34lover gets to put that big old 460 Ford through it's paces, he will forever be a slave to torque. It happened to me .

It's a pain, but it can be done. I think that E34lover could pull it off with some practice. The first vehicle I had for any length of time was a 1/2 ton Chevy pickup which was only a foot or two shorter than his Ford.

Destroked SBC?? are you kidding? If you want a good small V8 then a original Buick 215 is the way to go. A v8 so light it may actually be lighter then the stock 2.0

Yeah when I first got to drive it, my uncle said go to 40 mph so I did. Then he told me to try to stop it as fast as I can. Well I slammed on the brakes and I've seen trains stop faster than that.

Best V8.

Ford 289 Block bored 0.30 over with a custom, fully balanced short throw crank/long con-rod combo (usually a chevy 400 crank). Fully ported AFR or trickflow heads and around 11:1 compression.

This intake manifold

Very large cam with big lift (.600+) and 180* headers to finish it off. That will weigh just under 500lbs and rev to 10,000rpm while making around 400hp.

Update

Ok so I finally had the chance to go back up to the High Sierra Desert and play with my wanna be bus. The last time I was out there the transmission was acting a little weird, but it went back to normal and I didn't think much about it. Well I get up there do some basic stuff like check the oil, check the transmission fluid, etc..... The next day I took him out for a ride in the dunes and up a steep trail. I checked every gear in 4x2, 4x4 High, and 4x4 low.

The next day I was going on a much bigger longer trail that would take up half the day. I started going to go down the road to the trail when all of the sodden I started to slow down and the revs went from 2500 to 5000 RPMs when I was traveling up a big hill. I pulled over to the side and checked all of my fluids. It was weird, everything was fine except the transmission wouldn't catch. I had no cell phone coverage and I was close enough were i didn't need to be towed so I got it to get in gear just enough to crest over the hill and coast back home. The next day I opened up the transmission fluid pan, drained it, and found this!

That big circle of grayish goop is a donut shaped magnet with all the little metal shavings from the transmission. I took it to the auto shop just to confirm it was from the transmission and he said it was probably dead. Now my uncle, and I have to find out what kind of transmission that truck uses, buy one, and go up there in about a month to replace it.

Too bad about the trans, although the nice thing about having a lifted truck is there is no need for jackstands. :)

I have to replace my trans mount on my jeep and the 4" lift makes it nice and roomy under there. It's great!

Great Truck. I wouldn't hesitate to take it into town. No one would bother you. :)
