Don't know if you guys know about this. Brock Yates, the guy who started the Cannonball Run, has been doing this one lap of America thing for a quarter of a century. Basically, it's two driver's in one car and they drive 3-4000 miles in a week to different ovals, drag strips, and road courses in America, and compete in events at each track. The schedule is very grueling, non-stop driving, gas station dinners, all on public highways in mostly stiff, race prepped cars, with only one set of tires and no support crews. It's really the Gumball 3000 for real drivers.
Anyways it starts and ends at the Tire rack in South Bend, IN. I'm going to try and make it to the start this Saturday, I'll definitely be at the finish on the 9th, I'll try and get some pictures. And to all you FinalGear Chicagoans the Tire Rack is on the West side of South Bend, only two hours drive right off 80/90 (Or South Shore ride if your poor.) And it's free.
