Taxi screen media owner Cabvision is to launch a channel showing clips of the BBC motoring programme Top Gear in its fleet of 1,000 London taxis.

I was going to ask if they had advertising on them... we have monitors in the elevators at home and they display 95 percent ads and the remainder of the screen space is news and stuff in tiny, illegible text.

Ads every five minutes or so isn't too bad - that's what regular TV is like here.

I think they show adverts every 5 minutes, but to be honest I have only seen these things twice, even though I have probably taken more than 30 taxi rides during my last trip to London.
