This is my nice and original Sierra iS. Wich i bought for 13000NOK a few weeks ago.
It has only driven 186000km and is completely rustfree :D
For now it is pretty much just like it was when i bought it. Except it was missing the the foglights and front indicators  and i have changed the steering wheel for my RS wheel.
I am planning to get rid of the 90spec dashboard an replacing it with a proper mk1 dash and change the Recaro-seats with some that have a tilt-function (the previous owners have put in Recaros from a sedan cossie).
And i have just about everything i need to turbocharge the engine  I just need a triggerwheel and a widebandlambda. Then i can first put in my Haltech-ecu, before put in the turbo.

Original Ford RS-steering wheel :)

Nice car, not sure about the fake cossie hood vents though.. Also, your rims are a touch too big for my liking.

I also bought a cossie grille (and a new set of headlights and bumpers), just need to go pick them up :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, since yours is an IS aswell, what kind of rpm are you doing at 120kph in 5th? I took mine on the motorway for the first time today, and it has to be the worst grand tourer ever, 4k+ rpm, anyone? :)

I am getting rid of the fake vents. I hate fake vents

Good, mk1 sierras look much better when you get rid of the flat grille. In my opinion even the base front looks better than the flat one.

4k+ at 120 sounds about right. Thats not a big problem for me since speed limit in Norway is 80 :p
PS: The gearing on the iS is the same as any other rwd sierra with the type9 or typeE gearbox.

Are you sure about the the gear ratios, I mean, I know for a fact that 1.6 and 2.0 Sierra differential ratios are different to oneanother. Also, bear in mind I said 4k+ rpm at 120 KPH

To OP: the pics don't seem to show in the post. I can dig them up, but it's a pain. :p

Edit: Ah, it's my adblock that's screwing with them.

Will you be selling your original headlights? :)

Sorry for the threadjack, nice Sierra OP!

nice sierra, good find finding one without any rust :p
Thanks

Ford uses the same ratios on most cars. Are sure that it is the gearing on the 1.6 that is different? And not just the max rpm?
I checked the speed/rpm on my car and it is 3300rpm at 120kph. So your speedometer or tacho is a bit off.

To the OP do you have a spare set of headlights by any chance? How hard are they to find in Norway? How much could you pick up a set for?

Sorry, nice car by the way! Starfox and I have 2 Merkurs, which were basically the US spec Sierras. We'd love a set of nice headlights

You could try this site FMCN.no. It's a norwegian site for Fordfans. You will probably find someone that can send a few sets to you.

Why would you want to get rid of the newer dashboard? I always wanted that in my 1990. Looks much better imo.

Because the newer dash doesnt fit right in an mk1. Theres big gaps around the dash and the switches doesnt fit in the holes :(

Ohhhh!!! ^_^

Mid-Eighties Fords!!!

I miss my Escort so much...

Enjoy the "new" ride! ;)

Thanks:D

I picked up my cossie grille today. Is yours made from plastic or fiberglass? Mine is fiberglass, and it doesn't fit all that well. Also, do you have power steering, and if not, how many turns is your steering wheel lock to lock?

I have an original plastic grill. The fibreglass copies usually doesnt fit :(
I dont have powersteering. Its 4 turns lock-to-lock without powersteering. 2.5 turns lock-to-lock with powersteering (2.4 on Cosworths).

Trying to get the fiberglass one to fit my car today.. It seems like it has shrunk about 1 cm :\ Still looks a hell of a lot better than the stock one. The stock steering I don't like either, 4 turns lock to lock is going to be very unforgiving in the winter. I need to source the parts to put power steering on. How's you turbocharging going along?

Everyone i have heard of who has bought fibreglass say they dont fit right :(
Sierras are VERY unforgiving on the snow. So you will need to be able to from lock-to-lock very quickly :?
I am still waiting for the last parts i have ordered;)

I almost forgot to mention that have changed the diff on it :p
Went and bought 4x4 Cosworth rear axle a couple of weeks ago. The original was half-dead and whining :p So now i have a LSD
I needed a good diff since i went too a trackday a week ago :D

Nice cossie rims at the rear. Took my towbar off today, and fitted a new rear bumper. Going to get the rest of the exhaust fixed tomorrow and get an MOT. Do you know if the front discs that are on our Sierras are the same size as the ones on the v6 xr's? If I ever want to make a turbo conversion legal, I need xr4 discs in all corners, so can I get through with just changing the rear? Will paint the grille tomorrow and fit it sometime this week :)

I am not 100% sure about it, but i think xr4i brakes are bigger.
I know the 2.3v6 have exactly the same brakes as a 2.0. But im pretty sure the bigger v6s have bigger brakes.
