Guess That Car game - By Clues Only

No.

Another clue:

This car was only driven in France, on French tires, and by Francophone drivers.

EDIT: Another clue to help you along a bit:

This car was never road-legal precisely because it was a racing car.

No.

EDIT: Okay, I'll modify the engine clue a bit:

This car used the same engine (with modifications, obviously) as the DeLorean made famous by BTTF.

(That's what I meant by "geek's sportscar".)

Alpine A310 V6

Peugeot 504 V6 Coup?
Schlesser Original
Venturi 400GTR and 600LM
Maybe 1 of those all use delorean engine and I think they were made in France

None of those. Pay attention to the fact that I said "with modifications".

And modifications include... stuff that blows more air into the cylinders.

Correct!

Raced between 1983 and 1985, and in 1984 it actually led the opening laps of the 24 Hours of Le Mans before a brake issue sent it into the wall and tumbling down the order. Its highest recorded speed was in qualifying for that race, at around 360 kph.

EDIT: xeonidas and araracd, I guess you looked on the PRV engine's Wiki page and completely ignored the very last entry...

Next one

1. The exterior of the car was designed to look like a luxury sedan.
2. The interior/engine was designed with the spirit of a sports car.
3. The car had some features really advanced or ahead of their time.
4. Part of the name of the car was written on the rear window using defrost wire.

That defrost wire clue is killing me! I know i've seen a car like that.
Was it just a concept or did it make into production?

^ Close. Very very close. But no.

That drifting further away.
