Well, 1987... Porsche 928 S4, this was the first and only major update of the 928. The engines doubled their valve count to 32 valves and four camshafts, some of the edges got rounded off to.

Porsche 959, it was announced for production in 1986, but sold as 1987 model year. It was a very significant supercar, as in many ways it's the forfather of most all-weather-supercars, it was the first road car with a fully computer controlled awd-system.

Ruf CTR, they took the essence of the turbocharged 911 and destilled it and then added som more power, what's not to like...?

Furthermore, 1987 was the last year of the famous "Rothmans" factory sponsored 962s.

Also, it was it was the last year in F1 with the TAG-Porsche engine in the back of Ron Dennis' Marlboro McLarens.

I only put down cars that were introduced or underwent revision sometime between the mid 80's and 1991, so no Mini or Ambassador or anything.
My favourite cars circa 1991:

Although - that being said - I am envious as hell of those of you born in 1968. The Dodge Charger, Pontiac GTO, Lamborghini Miura, and the Maserati Ghibli. That was a good year, too.
