Doctor Who

Just watched 'The Waters of Mars' and really enjoyed it. Definately classic who scariness in it. Spoilered for those who haven't seen it yet.
I really like the concept of the aliens and their makeup. Also they did a great job in feeling for each character and their death and the conflict in the Doctor as he knows he is messing with trouble. I can't help but think that his messing around with essential critical point in time will have deeper ramifications.
David Tennant is his great self and i really enjoy how he takes the Doctor from the vengeful god to the geeky science kid in the blink of an eye.
One thing that came to mind was the "he will knock four times" prophecy and when i heard the cloister bell ringing i thought 'hmm, maybe' the trailer for the End of Time didn't reveal much but i was left thinking that blonde hair really doesn't suit John Simms.

I thought it was extremely average except for the end, which improved, but they failed at making it dark enough.
Also - get some new actors. NO-ONE in that episode ran without looking like a complete berk.

yeah, there was way too much running in this episode and it kind of hampered the story telling

i thought that it was weird seeing the Doctor going so dark and i would like to have seen more of this version of the Doctor, however i'm guessing thats what the next 2 specials are for.

Wait, is it back on?

Wait, is it back on?

there was a special that aired last Sunday called "The Waters of Mars" the next two will be on at xmas and will be the Tenth Doctors final episodes.
i'm sure a look around on various 'websites' will wield a result for you.

also for those interested, included below is the trailer for Tennant's final story. spoilered for those who don't want to know.

Nice, I like the appearance of that final character, at least it should wrap up stuff from series 3, it appears.

actually from what i've been hearing its going to wrap up a lot of things and some stuff from the Ninth Doctor as well.

It's brilliant.

Although...
this Time Lord victorious nonsense seems rather odd from a bloke who'd be dead if it wasn't for some gobby ginger human.

Also, seems like a pun on the title of the Master's theme from DWOSTS3 - The Master Vainglorious?

Maybe that's why we've had all those nauseating "THANK YOU DOCTOR OMG" bits recently. :/ Like it was hinting at this sudden change in tempo.

And Simm looks like a long lost Gallifreyan Malfoy

The Time Lord victorious bit was explained in the Doctor Who confidential that aired after the main show. RTD explained that because they knew that David Tennants time as the Doctor was coming to a end it allowed them to go in new directions with the character. Because the upcoming regeneration will effectively reboot the characters its a good chance to let Tennant flex some dramatic muscle. Personally i liked the idea of it and hopefully they'll keep it up in the final 2 episodes.

By the way, for those in the UK. Its Children in Need tonight on the BBC and they're airing a preview of the next Doctor Who story. Apparently its going to be a clip that takes place just after the main credits because the teaser before the credits gives away too much plot. Either way its a good enough reason to sit through Childen in Need tonight.

heres the special 3 minute preview of Doctor Who. spoilers for those who don't want to know or see what happens.

^^Bernard Cribbins was utterly on fire on Buzzcocks! And so glad that Tennant got to see Phil's Dalek impression in person.

Don't forget it's on tonight everyone in England. And everyone else has their sources.

just watched it and those last 30 seconds of the program, i've never yelled so many expletives at the tv at once. plus i think i worked out the "he will knock four times" prohecy and about Wilfred Mott.

I think its the sound that the master makes, the sound of those drums. i'm not sure but in the part 2 preview i could have sworn that the Timothy Dalton Time Lord stated that those sounds are the heartbeat of a time lord. As for Wilfred Mott, i think he's a Time Lord, another survivor of the Time War. i keep expecting him to pull out a fob watch. Also i couldn't help but notice that during the Time Lord reveal, i noticed one who was covering their face.
