well, actually...
I used to own one of those, not the worst car in the world you know, painfully slow and compleetly boring but well build, and those 1.8 Td's will last forever if properly maintained......then again somehow I doubt this thing is gonna die of old age....
Terribly made. They rust very, very soon. Also, the 1.8TD sucks donkeys.
What's the NCAP crash rating?
realy? first time I've heard of rust problems and I see loads of em still driving round here.....that 18TD was grocely underpowered for a car that size (90hp if I recall) but those things bang on forever.....
But again.....I'ts not like relaiability is gonna be that big of an issue is it?

It's practically impossible to find a Mondeo here without any rust. The Mk1/Mk2 rust hard by themselves, the Mk3 has those panel sealant issues which caused them to have doors replaced under warranty due to way premature rust. The Mk4 probably hasn't developed rust issues yet, though.
But then, some seasons consists entirely of salt over here.
