The "nice people" Saab has always been the original 900. That's part of Saab's downfall: they stopped making the car people care about sixteen years ago.

So, nice-people-that-are-not-sparkling-vampires do the same thing they did for the last sixteen years: buy a used 900 and fight rust.

Trouble is, the original 900 was a very outdated car by 1993 and it needed to be refreshed ASAP.

But re-shelling a Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3 was NOT the solution; the Cavalier was already 5 years old at the time and about to be replaced in 1995, which meant the then new Saab 900 was already outdated and to make matters worse, it perpetuated until 2002.
