This concept is somewhat a preview of the upcoming 407's replacement, the new Peugeot 508. Yes, 508, not 408. In the near future, PSA's model positioning will be something like this: Citroen C5 II -> Peugeot 508 -> Citroen C6. So the 508 will replace, not only the 407, but also the 607. Range will include a sedan, a break, a coup? and a cabrio.

Looks like the big mouth is gone for good, I'm glad because that's what I've always hated about the most recent Peugeots.

I think you've linked the wrong images, because the topic says Peugeot and that's a good looking car. Clearly, a mistake has been made, because considering some of the disasters they've pushed out recently, there's no way Peugeot would make a car that looks like that.

If it isn't in error though, wow, impressive. That's possibly the shortest shift from horrifying (BB1 Concept, which for the sake of your lunches I will not post a picture of) to fairly awesome I've seen.

1) Give it RWD.
2) Slot in an adaptation of the 5.5 l V12 HDi engine from the 908 racecar.
3) Make the production car look at least 30% like this one and prevent it from catching fire.

4) ......?

5) Profit!

It looks very Aston-Martin.

I do like the direction Peugeot is going with their recent cars, big gob and all.

Where is the 908 road car though?

Peugeot has had some stunning concept cars in the past, but none of them have made it in to production. I also think this looks very much like an Aston, but not a bad one I must say! But as always, you have to be skeptic with these concept cars, they hardly ever get made.

You also got to remember that in the end of the day, it would still be a French car. :p

The problem with Peugeot is, that they can only make good looking concept cars, whenever they put one in production, it gets a gawping mouth and enormous headlights..

It's just a concept, it will never go in production like this. If it does, the headlight will be really tall, covering almost the entire length of the hood, because of stupid EU regulations.

Headlight length has nothing to do with EU-regulations (other than that light must be visible from angle X but not from Y and it must be the hue Z etc) but everything to do with spare part costs.

4) Price it out of the competition.

Peugeot wouldnt survive without volume.

Cool...

At last Peugeot are re-descovering that design sells...

They had it during the '90s but it all went astray during the '00s.

Let's hope the future production cars look this good.

Umm...Where's the 6 speed?

And what are the funky things on the steering column?

Peugeot...just do it. Do whatever you need to do...just build it.

I wants it.

naah its not going into production anyway, so why bother?

And if its going to be produced, peugeot will ruin the design before anyway...

I love it! The roofline is perfect, but the whole car looks beautiful.

It looks very Aston-Martin.
