Really, you guys? Though it was probably the best of my exposures last night, I thought it was kind of meh. But, thanks.

D40 @ 639 seconds (10 minutes, 39 seconds), ISO 200
18-55 @ 18mm, f/5
Shot in RAW so I could dick around the white balance.
Camera facing NW, Polaris about 45 degrees above horizon.

Yup, that does it. You forgot to mention your frozen finger on the remote though.

With a remote you press once and shutter opens, press second time and shutter closes. Frozen fingers only when repositioning camera and fiddling with settings. ;)
 
Crap, 39 seconds off! >_<

There's two kinds of remotes. The IR is press twice while in bulb mode, wired has a lock. Neither require you to hold the finger for the duration of the exposure. ;)
