Random Thoughts....

My mom like their stuff while I don't. Too tacky/overdone for my tastes.

As for getting a driver's licence, I don't have mine either but not from lack of wanting. I just don't have the cash to pay for it right now and I'm kinda stubborn about wanting to do it on my own ie not borrowing cash to pay for it.

Due to my lack of success at getting a job, I've decided to trim my beard neatly, wear a black suit and a fedora, and carry a silver suitcase with a revolver in it to all interviews.

How hard can it be?

How hard can it be, indeed. Maybe I've been trying to get into the wrong industry all this time. How are the prospects for becoming a scary, good-looking mofo these days?

I saw one of my friends who graduated a few years ago the other day. He was like, "You're still here?" and I told him that I added a second major and should be graduating in December. To this, he replied, "Well, don't. The job market really sucks."

Is it really that bad?

The unemployment rate is pretty high, so I imagine it's pretty bad.
If you are graduating in December, I would start looking for a job now just to get an idea.
Based on that you could decide to extend your education further or not.
What field are you studying?

Film and political science. I'd really like to do something filmy, though.

(I'm doomed.)

I wouldn't be quite as worried if I was actually good at anything, but...that's not exactly the case. I don't even really know where to start looking. :(

Don't really know much about that, but I imagine you could try looking for companies that make (political) ads or educational videos or something like that to get your foot in the door.
Either that or become youtube famous.
(Or donate to the BJs for Scorsese fund. :p)

That's the weird thing: I've been so turned-off by how nasty politics gets that I really don't want to have much of anything to do with it.

It's interesting to study, but the more I do, the more anarchism starts to look good. :yucky:

Just direct porn, that's where the money's at.

"Zack and Coco Make a Porno?"

(I'd rather not get to the whole "starving and about to get evicted" point, though.)

It's strange, going through my yearbook from middle school, I absolutely hated the school and a fair portion of the people in it but that tight knit group of friends I did have were awesome! But now that I think of my group of friends I have in my high school it seems like I'm somewhat in the same situation, a tight knit group of friends who muck about and take the piss out of each other. It's weird how you can be in a different crowd of people and still form a group of people who get along and share common interests.
I'm starting to use this thread as a self-revelations thread lately, it's amazing what your mind does when it's on vacation.
...
Another thought.
That girl in the registry was really cute and I should have asked for her number or something because she is going to be on my mind for a while. She was very, very cute!
The world can really suck sometimes.

Don't know about the US, but over here it seems like the crisis never fully hit the film industry (apart from the TV commercial market folding) and the market is already picking up again by now. Most of my friends in film are back in employment, which, giving that it's mid-February and freezing cold, i.e. most productions won't start shooting before Mid-March, is remarkable.

But for all i know, if you're serious about getting into film, move to L.A. or New York.

i wouldn't do that...you'll see your motivation to study drain away in front of your eyes.

i say study without looking at the world, and once you have a degree, start worrying about life

...and that is why I love gmail! Haha.

Right. Because graduating without a job is going to be so much fun. Nothing to pay the bills and your loans with sounds pretty bad financial planning to me.

Looking for job is different from taking a job. Making contacts for future when you have that degree is smart.

I can still hit you up with moody people and reindeer guts Coco. Dark political documentary about the sosialictic northern state of Winland that's going down the gutter, eh? :D
