1 kW incandescent light with 120x120cm softbox to the left, mirror surface, black background, illuminated from the ground by a flash (combined with wb set to incandescent produced a blue effect), then a friend used some athlete coolant spray (aerosolised alcohol) to light up a fireball behind the glass. Then it was just a matter of catching it in the right moment.
