that would explain why it was random threads, probably wherever that certain person posted. Thanks! I'll report back if it happens with another, I remember there being other URLs it would hang on.

There's no easy way to do that, but I can easily not allow images in signatures but still allow a single image via the upload form at the bottom of http://forums.finalgear.com/profile.php?do=editsignature
The problem with that is dynamic signatures like mine wouldn't be possible.

I agree.
Go to http://forums.finalgear.com/profile.php?do=editoptions and uncheck the option for displaying signatures.

Yes, because signatures are a total waste of space that could be otherwise used for something else.

Is there an easy way I can narrow it down myself? I hate to make you go hunting.

bah, I've been having all sorts of Youtube problems lately. Carry on then.
If you notice long waits with your browser saying "looking up domainname.tld", you might be using slow nameservers. Try the ones run by opendns or google.

It's usually "waiting for," not "looking up." But I will not hesitate to blame my ISP on this.

Just a little thing; when you hover over the thread title you get a preview, if I'm not mistaken it used to happen when you hovered anywhere within the "frame" for that thread but now you have to hover over the actual text. If it's an easy change to make it would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Just had a revelation about how to track these down (control+U :?)
It's Ilpav's signature. When I try to load the gif directly I get an unable to connect error. Does this work for anyone else?

I use another forum that uses V Bulletin (Powered by vBulletin Copyright ?2000 - 2010) and it still shows up within the frame there.

What browser are you using? Can you just block the image? I have about a dozen or so avatars blocked that annoy me and could do the same with specific signatures in Opera. And actually YOU taught me how to do that I think so
