Let's make a thread for videos of 'halo cars' so to speak, being thrashed on, whether it be on a race track or the road. It's nice to look at pictures, but its something else entirely to watch them do what they were made to do. I salute owners who abuse their uber-expensive cars up to the limits that they were built for.

Ferrari 246 S being absolutely flogged at LeMans:

Ferrari 330 GTC redlined in every gear on a dyno (what a sound!)

Aston DB2 running at lemans (at night no less!)

Daytona Coupe at lemans:

Not as rare and exotic as those mentioned but here are a few that might be worthy

Boss Mustang being thrashed

Alfa Giulia GTA and and Junior racing

Wasn't there a video of a vintage 911 raced absolutely crazy at Spa posted here somewhere? I can't find it...

This?

It's actually the Ruf CTR "Yellowbird" filmed at the N?rburgring :) Quite epic video :)

I think I prefer the sound of the last video to the first video. Growl rather than scream.

That is just fucking plain bonkers. And on top of that, he's doing it on an open track!

i think you're talking about this one
(and i've never seen this vid in good quality...)

A 1958 Ferrari 250 TR at Laguna Seca... unfortunately hitting a wall. I was there, and I will say it was being thrashed, as you could only do this thrashing your car.

Here it is being unloaded. I'm actually somewhere just off to the left off-camera making sure the rear end didn't scrape the ground. I open the engine cover, after it was off the truck, and unhook the towstraps from inside the engine bay.

This video angers me.

That's a nice way to mess up the diff and the trans. Makes me wonder what the driver had been smoking when he had the idea to do those things to his merc. Drive it like you stole it got a whole new meaning now.

Why you don't drive the ISO Bizzarini like a supertourer.

They sound pretty nice:

OH yes, the 250 TR sounds excellent. At the Monterey Historics, there were 3 of them racing around. Was brilliant

@ Smashed ISO Bizzarini: That'll buff out.

In all seriousness, as much as I like seeing cars being driven how they were meant to be driven, it's still pretty sad when they're trashed because their bonkers enthusiast driver ran out of talent (or does bone-headed things like in the Merc vid, ugh!).

Better IMO to go out in a blaze of glory than sit in a warehouse and never see a track.

Enzo Ferrari said something along the lines of ?People who buy supercars and then don't drive them anywhere near their limit are idiots?

Old man Ferrari knew what he was on about. As viper said, at least you had a blast with it before it went out.

That was at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA in 2009 the weekend the Ferrari Challenge. I was there, and I think I have a similar picture at home. I took it without showing the damage. I wanted to remember it at its best :)
He did run it hard around the track along with a 64 GTO. Was glorious.
