yet _another_ 2Tb drive from Newegg, couldn't resist the $100 special.

Now I have about 8Tb of storage space : )

Radioshack? They should sell multi-pronged, multi-voltage A/C adapters.

Don't you mean Da Shack? Radioshack has renamed itself The Shack to try and become more hip.

And all the ones where I live are called The Source by Circuit City. :p

It doesn't appear The Shack branding is that widespread yet, I just find it so hilarious for some reason. It sounds like a surf shop.

I saw that special, but then saw it was only a 5900 RPM drive. :(

Update on Project Get My Cheap-ass Wheel to Work: after some intense Googling it turns out that the wheel uses the same ac adapter as the less-expensive Xbox HD-DVD player. Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to do some eBaying!

That's what indexing is for.

Peeps are still buying brand name desktops?

For some reason I figured everyone was buying laptops these days unless they were into assembling their own system. I love desktops, that's what I use most of the time, but it seems everyone's gone the way of the portable.

I'm not really one to assemble a desktop nor buy a laptop, my Dad has a laptop that is kind of the family laptop so I use that every once and a while. I've never had a problem with Dell, always decent customer service, and will probably always buy a Dell before anything else.

I wasn't saying Dell is bad or anything, never tried any of their stuff. Hope you enjoy it. ;)

I have one from a dead steering wheel. But shipping it from Michigan to Japan would probably cost more than buying a new one.

about that... how come i only get a rating of 5.9 for my hard disk although it's a rather speedy samsung F3 (not that eco-stuff)?
does one need an SSD or raid system to top that, or is there something wrong with my PC/HDD?
