Random Thoughts....

So I got temporarily moved into a different building for probably another week while work goes on in my usual one to remove asbestos. That in and of itself is bad but the worst part is the sheer boredom I've been dealing with, especially this weekend. I've had to resort to a library for internets and I've been relying on old Top Gear episodes and SNES roms to keep my sanity. There's only so much button-mashing I can handle in one sitting. On top of it all after all the waiting for the new Top Gear season I'm going to have to wait a few more days to see the first episode due to the aforementioned lack of internets. Not happy. :glare:

As a side effect of the boredom I've gotten an incredible amount of sleep so far this weekend: 28 hours over two days. That's been nice.

In other random thoughts I've found out that forklifts are quite fun and surprisingly easy to drive. Honestly I think a motorcycle is harder to operate than those pieces of heavy machinery.

The US Mens Soccer (football) team let me down, so I changed my avi from one in support of them to one that reflects how I feel after today's loss.
 
Everyone's doing their own schoolies thing, but I don't want to do anything. Going to Surfers, Lorne, Philip Island or anywhere else that involves alcohol in large quantities doesn't interest me.

I just want to save up a music festival or Melbourne GP for next year rather than doing that. Schoolies is stupid.

I felt the same way.
Some friends and I were going to go on our own mini road trip - in January or so, to somewhere nice and quiet and spend a few days by the beach. Can't remember why it didn't happen now.

I've been invited to go to Bright (which is in the High Country?) along with a bunch of people from school, but I'm still not sure about that one. I'll be happy to go to Sandown because it's the on the weekend after my last exam.

I did the same thing...went to the US in 2005 for a month with my best friend. It was the bomb. Melbourne GP would be awesome...with the money you'd save from schoolies you could probably get a four day granstand pass :)

Maybe if I pass Sandown and do that one, maybe so. I haven't told anyone about this but I am contemplating of trying to get a ticket to Big Day Out or Falls Festival. Bloody expensive but worth it if the right bands are playing there.

Music festivals are lots of fun. I would choose BDO over Falls because the idea of camping amongst a huge bunch of grubby hippies doesn't appeal to me :lol: lineup announcements should be coming out pretty soon. BDO this year was awesome.

Today is just not my day...

I just came back from a club, I had a really nice time...until the cops showed up. They decided to check if everyone is over 21. And I do mean everyone. We had to get in a line and get out of the club, while being yelled at and pushed by the Police. They said we'll get in after they check everyone. Fine.

After everyone got out (99.5% of the people were over 21), they started threatening people and shouting that we should go home, otherwise we'll be arrested. Arrested for what??? Standing on the sidewalk, talking to friends? I wasn't even drunk, because I was driving.
 
The Police are just trying to engender good community relations by harassing innocent people who were simply out to enjoy themselves - oh, hang on, that can't be correct?
 
I think I've drunk more this weekend than I would usually total in half a year. Yay holidays! :cheers:
Fuck hangovers, though....ugh! Bah, serves me right I guess.

I'm going down to Geelong to hang out with friends who go to uni there and are now also on holidays for a couple of weeks, leaving rather early on Monday and coming back Wednesday afternoon. I won't be online for a bit as a consequence, not that I've been posting overly regularly of late, anyway, LOL! :lol:

My sister has done Falls mulitple times and really enjoyed the experience and then last year, she decided at the last minute to go to Pyramid because a) Bf was going there and b)Empire of the Sun were to be there (or really Luke Steele). Little did they know a storm pretty much ruined the whole experience for them as none of the main acts played (and most of the goers demanding a refund, but the organisers rebuttled by saying that the majority of the artists performed there, therefore no refund). Falls has gone up over the years due to mass popularity and I'm not sure what my sister is going to be doing this year and because this is the first year where I can do something, I want it to be a great event.

I hope they have good lineups this year.

Police are so polite these days; in my days they just beat the shit out of you, threw you into a paddy wagon, and that was that. And this was in the socialist republic of Madison, Wisconsin.

Tell me about it...

I'm still feeling kinda down with my thoughts on earworms. It's like my hollow victory in a statistics test i took a couple of weeks ago, in which I managed to draw a pretty much perfect circle without any help (i lost my round ruler thingy). it was hollow because while it is quite an impressive feat, i know I'll never be able to pull it off again.
