This episode = simply remarkable.

The best of Top Gear right here. It appeals strikingly to the gearheads, the average viewers, and indeed the average human being.

10/10

Totally Amazing Episode. Watched it 5 times already. Just viewing for the 6th time and I want your input.

Opening credits. "Cameron Diaz ... and she's brought along Tom Cruise", cut to Cruise in the RPC laughing his ass off. Watch the internal camera. Is this the live view we have of him landing his Gambon ? Looks like it :)

Haters gonna hate, but I still love what they do every year. Always pulling something new out the bag. The Senna tribute had me and my mates stunned for 15mins, trying to hide the tear-wipes. Hats-off to the TopGear Crew for that. Keep it up lads. o7

There's a Senna S somewhere on the livery of every Williams F1 car since 1994. Generally in a rather discrete place, like a front wing pillar or something like that.

This "S".

Like vikrad said, since 94 williams puts the "Senna S" on its car.

It's a tribute to the champion, and a way to let Senna come first every time a Williams car win a race (although it has been a while a Williams car won anything).

Really an awesome show and the last documentary was breath taking, cause i haven't seen a person like that in my life doing racing and helping people. Top Gear suddenly went serious. It made us all remember a hero of the 90's.
Good on that.

One thing that should be stopped is the blabbering of JC in the news. I hate it. (also just off topic news, not that focus on cars)
otherwise it is business as usual.
The Bugatti was superb, i love seeing it always on video.
Just imagine how it would be if we saw it in real world (i.e in front of our eyes) :)

Well i gave it a 10/10 rating. since the start, this episode is the best.

PS - also Senna's F1 car was 1200 HP??? That too was built in the late 80's?? that itself is breath taking, cause they showed a 1200HP Bugatti and a same engine existed 20 years ago! WOW!
That was cool.

Not really, a 1.5l turbo F1 monster built for a race isn't the same engine as an 8l quad-turbo engine that needs to survive for 300000km, be quietish, start at the touch of a button without a crew of engineers, not blow up easily, pass emissions standards, ...

Same power, yes... but there have been 1200hp engines for decades.

I don't know what in the name of all that's holy gave you the impression that the first piece was a PR exercise.

Errr, because VW set up and paid for the whole thing, as per the Veyron segment. Do you really believe Top Gear organised these events??? :?

You do realize that every major "event" Top Gear does has to have a pretty large amount of input and help from the manufacturer whose car is featured? It is sometimes more work from the manufacturer. Also, VW probably picked TG for "publicising" the Veyron record attempt on TV because TG loved the car ever since they first drove it.

I wasn't alive during most of Senna's career, and too young during the last four years of it. so I don't remember him personally. But Jezza's film makes me wish I had been born 15 years earlier. Senna was truly an amazing driver, I haven't seen anything anywhere near that degree of awesome in the latter couple of races in '09 and the '10 season so far. Makes me wish the FIA would mandate teams go back to that spec, there might be some proper racing.

Also, I loved it when Hamilton drove Senna's old car. That was pretty cool, and the Honda V12 in that car sounds downright mean.

Most of the episode was alright but wow, that Senna doco was wonderful. Could have done without Hamilton's role in it, Would rather if they had tried to get Rubens or someone Brazilian to drive the car. Felt it was the only part of the doco that wasn't about Senna, whereas Rubens or whomever would have just kept bringing it back to Ayrton.

Anyone noted before, that the Touareg has a 3.0 l Diesel, not a 3.5l like Richard said? Makes me think, are they really about the cars anymore? In the early days, that wouldn*t have happened.

I love to watch Top Gear for the comedy. But this episode was pure porn for any Car Enthusiast. Richards race was very entertaining, I loved all the sick tricks on the snowmobiles. The Interview with Cameron and Cruise was great! Cameron is amazing, beautiful and a great driver.

Tom Cruise gained some respect from me when he went on two wheels. Crazy mofo. The Bugatti Veyron SS is absolutely insane. What a machine. I'm happy James got to drive it! I can't believe how fast that thing is off the line. What a time it got around the track. The Senna Tribute was moving and inspiring. I enjoyed the episode immensely. 10 out of 10. Bravo Top Gear Bravo.
