Dear American FG members, help me find and purchase a rwd, V8 powered exotic!

What are the main differences between a 95-96-97 truck, what has been improved and has the engine (powerstroke) changed?
Transmission wise I presume most of the autos are the 4 speed OD? What kind of 4x4 system does it have?

The main differences between the three years are the colors that were offered. :p I don't recall any other differences off hand.

The transmission is the E4OD/4R100 4 speed automatic; they use a traditional truck transfer case (model depends on configuration) for 4x4 which had a locking center diff in low range.

It's a manual, but it isn't the only one I plan on looking at. I plan to look at a few with CrazyJeeper on Saturday and possibly Sunday.

I'm also going to go look at at least one dysfunctional one in the morning that's just refusing to run. They want almost nothing for it and I think it just needs a new CPS.

It's raining/about to rain here in DFW and none of the trucks are going to be available for examination until this afternoon and evening. Still, the owner of that last one above sent over some pictures.

Struck out completely today - either the trucks were not as advertised, or they were sold by the time I got there.

However, got a nice long list of them for tomorrow. :D

Most of the longbed 350s will have a gooseneck hitch. It's just how people outfit them here. You can usually remove them if you wish. Rear bumpers are cheap and easy to swap out for one more pleasing to you. Tailgates are easily located and cheap, too.

Here's some I'm going to be checking out tomorrow.

I guess its not hard to find spares in Texas :)

This one looks really nice, a bit of color ads a lot! Is it just me or does the one in Denton have a dent...

Probably not enough. We'll see, though.

The truck I was coming to examine just now appears to have two problems - 1. It's a gasser and 2. It appears to be on fire. Think I'll pass.

Yeah, that recall issue, I guess we should add as a requirement that it should not accidentally catch fire.
