Fallout: New Vegas

I'm at 25 hours of gameplay and haven't gone to the Strip yet, but I'm not exactly rushing through the story line.

I have focussed my efforts on it mainly so far, have now gotten to the strip and Met Mr. House.

Gonna go level up and do some sidequests get some better weapons etc, before moving on to the Fort, because Benny fled New Vegas with the Platinum Chip after I showed up. I think I'm gonna go meet up with the Brotherhood of Steel, see what they can offer.

thats where i am

when i found out about Mr House, my first thought was "what? again... really? didn't they do this last time around." wasn't that impressed. mostly running around the strip doing various missions for the casinos and outside towns. hoping to get my hands on some brotherhood of steel power armor at some point. my vault suit ain't really cutting the mustard any more.

Good stuff.

I decided to pay the Legion a visit first after being approached by them, but I don't agree with their way of doing things. Might see the NCR before tracking down the Brotherhood.

Don't read the next box if you don't want to know something really important.

Turns out the Legion have captured Benny, just found out after entering Caesar's tent.

Since I've spent so much time leveling up I have the jury rigging perk, which has allowed me to repair and maintain everything I have basically up to 100%, which is allowing me to rock some serious face. I mean, I'm level 21 already which helps, but on the other hand I'm still not killing everything outright with one shot aside from sneak attack criticals. When I get those, I can kill a deathclaw in one headshot (with my sniper rifle). And since I've spent so much time roaming around I have the subdermal implant thingy, raising my base DT. Cost 8000 caps but well worth it I think.

As far as my levels with various factions, the only one that outright hates me is the Legion, I'm a "sneering punk" to the Powder Gangers, and liked or above with every other community (~10 or so).

like most games with the good/evil method. i've gone with the NCR and going down the "good" path at the moment since thats usually how the game is meant to be played. the real fun stuff comes with playing the gun toting asshole.

also i'm trying to track down Felicia Day's character as well.

Fallout is one of the few games that are just as rewarding no matter which path you pick. There is always the Neutral option.

Bloody game is just unplayable for me (PC). The screen freezes whenever I enter VATS (4 times out of 5 at least). I still have control, and I can hear stuff reacting to my input, but picture is frozen.

I started playing again from the beginning. I am playing with with strong but dumb mostly melee guy now. STR and END are both 10 and CHA and INT are 1 :)
I also switched on the Hardcore mode. Brings a whole another element to the game when you have to carry food and water with you and you can't just sleep off all the damage or instaheal during battles.

I have a strong inclination that patches + DLC + mods will make the core game 10x better down the line, which is why I'd rather wait for the GOTY edition.

I'm having a great time in game right now....I have my Gobi Campaign scout rifle and I'm travelling around with Boone just shooting everything.:D

Haven't heard of that one.... Might want to look into that.

At the minute, I am jsut doing a ton of sidequests so I can get stronger and decide how to go with the main story.

I'm about 30 hours in.
I wasn't rushing it, but I wasn't going out of my way to do every side mission either. I'm level 23 right now, which is probably higher than what I needed to be on this point of the game. I killed Caesar, killed the Omerta bosses, killed Cachino, programmed the securitrons for Mr.House, but I also have the option to kill him and use the securitrons for my own. So far I know know what I will decide, but I'm leaning towards killing him. I think he's intentions are good, but he sounds like a dictator. All his ambitions about going to space and recoverying old world technology. He probably would not care about the citizens. The Brotherhood of Steel has a nobel cause, but again, their leaders are questionable. NCR seems like they have a democratic process, but their leadership doesn't seem strong enough to take back the entire country. I think I will just play as for as I can without making a decision, then kill each side and see how it'll turn out.

How the fuck do I get to the Great Khans? I've been trying to find a way to climb that mountain for over 1 fucking hour. All the paths that looks like they are climbable are not. WTF?

Is there a mod that'll enable all locations for fast travel? I'm sick and tired of walking for hours to just fight a few enemies.

been wondering that one myself. especially since theres a lot of nasty creatures lurking around in that area. mostly given up and doing other side quests first allowing myself to lvl up and get over there later. Currently up to lvl 14 and just doing the last mission for the Boomers.

Open the console with the ~ key, and type "tmm 1"

God damn you guys. I'm now going to have to install the game and play 3 all the way through again, then the other two expansion packs then New Vegas.... Just because...

i would have loved to have that intro bug
