Random Thoughts....

Peanut butter, punch buggy, and po' boy are all I can think of at the moment.

To which movies are you referring? I don't really pay attention to directors and whether or not they're art-farts or assholes or whatever.
I might be the only person out there, but i did not like "The Dark Knight" at all (hated Inception, too). Christopher Nolan has been an arthouse/Indiewood film favourite since Memento and Insomnia. Additionally, The Green Latern, even though having the delightfully quirky Michel Gondry (of "Be Kind Rewind" fame) at the helm, seems to be a total trainwreck according to most critics (will see it next week and judge for myself then).
After the brave descision to put Spider-Man into the hands of Sam Raimi, who, at this point, was a name only known to horror and splatter genre fans, massively paid off for the studios, it looks to me like the studios try to get "edgy" indie filmmakers involved in comic book-based blockbusters, with Nolan, Aranowsky and the like replacing action/thriller specialists like Bryan Singer and established fantasy specialists like Tim Burton. Works in some cases (Sin City, early Spider-Man), did not work in others.

Quoted for future reference in elitist TV conversations. :D
Watch an actual episode. The joke writers for Dirk Bach's moderations are top-notch, and don't shy away from political content, too. We had lots of Gorch Fock- and Guttenberg-themed humor, in fact, i think there was more political satire in a single "I'm a celebrity"-episode than in Matthias Richling's career of ruining Scheibenwischer.

And here I am, failing miserably at finding negative connotations for "PB". Damn. :( :D

Isn't lead poisonous?

Card adverts on telly signifying that it shall soon be Valentines Day. Or aka "Single Awareness Day" for some people. o_O (Not me, but I've never really done Valentines Day before.)

In other words, am glad I don't work in Clinton Cards anymore.

I doubt I could stand it to the first ad break. Never liked Dirk Bach though.

Don't get me started. Scheibenwischer used to be a must during my childhood. Which happened a long time ago.

In the only relationship I had that actually covered Valentine's Days, the girlfriend luckily didn't care about that day. And I hate it with a passion for reminding me of my single status via the prominent praline gift displays in the supermarket.

Erm, wrong film. Michel Gondry directed 'the Green Hornet' with Seth Rogen which i'll agree with. its a bloody awful film and most of that fault rests with Seth Rogen. He's crap. I'll disagree with you about "The Dark Knight" though, i fricking loved that film and still do. I love Heath Ledgers version of the Joker, its so true to the character and i still think both Batman Returns and The Dark Knight are the best comic book movies at the moment. I wish i could say Green Lantern will be the best (since its my favorite comic book, yay Geoff Johns!) but with Ryan Reynolds... i'm not holding my breath.

At the BHF charity shop i work at, they've started doing "love notes" where people make a donation and then write a message to go in the window. I've not really seen the point in this day, just seems to be a day where card companies shift attention from christmas to another day. Its not a bank holiday and it's just any other day. I'd much rather make every day special for a gf than just one specific day.
I may be a old fashioned romantic (i did post a love note in the window after all) but i still don't get the fuss over February 14th.

Michel Gondry is one of those directors who is pretty great at music videos, mostly inept at long form. The only movie he's done that's been any good was Eternal Sunshine, the rest have been pretty shambolic.

Sometimes I don't think there's any logic behind who gets picked to direct. SpiderReboot is being directed by the guy who did (500) Days of Summer - yes, twee parenthesis and all - which really doesn't have anything about it that says "good at making action things." It seems like producers look for names rather than suitability of their aesthetic.

I actually know a second person who doesn't like the Nolan Batmans. You're both wrong, but at least you're not alone :p.

be yourself, have a look around on the internet and check the background of the company. on top of that i would also just think of possible questions they might ask you and how to respond to them.
but above all, just be yourself. if your going to be damned, be damned for who you really are. less chance of making a mistake as well.
Hmm... about this "be yourself" thing, I'd like to advise against being very open and honest about everything. I don't know how the Finnish think about it, but essentially, you are trying to sell them your work for a salary. So if being yourself includes any meaningful amount of self-criticism, don't give them any reason to doubt your capabilities by talking about it. Instead, let them do the asking and keep your replies short and concise... which, to a Finn, probably comes naturally. :D

Yeah I don't really do V-Day either because of the same reason, never really had a bloke round the time. Well I do have a bloke now but he's not the mushy type. Don't get me wrong he is sweet with me but we don't do that disgusting kind of romantic that seems to make anyone with half a brain physically sick. He is over 5500 miles away too. I think I might just embarrass him for a laugh instead.

What made me laugh though were the men who had just got off work and come howling into my branch of Clinton Cards mere minutes before we closed just to pick up whatever V-Day shite we had left. Usually the over-sized cards and piss-poor excuses for cuddly toys.

See I like that idea I think it has a lot more meaning to it, plus the money goes to a good cause. :) I don't really like the over-the-top acts of romance that seem to rear their ugly head on V-Day, personally I'd rather have something funny and/or embarrassing that you can look back on and laugh at. XD

well of course, when i said "be yourself" i did mean within reason. if you come across as too confident it can come across as arrogance which is always a no-no. in fact the above poster explained everything better than i could have.

I don't care about the fact i'm late to this party, nor the fact that i'm doing it wrong. Sure beats the Miata I had earlier!

Oh, if we're allowing guest stars then I have it set.

Haven't been paying attention for a few days - where did this whole Sesame Street avatar thing come from?

This might only make sense to fellow UKanians, but there's a chance that my town might become nationally famous in my favourite way.

Confession of the day: I got hooked on "I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here".

Don't worry I actually like that one too, the only reality show I'll watch. I like nothing more than watching celebrities being essentially tortured for money, it's like a circus really. Last year we had the whole Gillian Mckeith saga...

I love you ridiculous foreign insurance commercial meerkat.

There could even be a visit by the meerkat to the town.

 but how, isn't he CG? are they going to put a coat on a real one?
