Posmo's Sierras or something?

I thought I'd post this here so you can say I'll never get it finished.

Next years spec will be:

Engine:
-2.0 OHC head, lowered 1mm, ported
-265/11.80mm camshaft
-Adjustable cam wheel
-Stock bottom end
-Martelius steel manifold
-2" exhaust, 2 mufflers
-Simota filter

Interior:
Pretty much the same as now, maybe a new dashboard.

Exterior:
-Finishing touches on the bodykit
-A new, better fitting Cosworth front panel
-Paint on the rear wing
-A couple of stupid stickers

Suspension, etc.
-Quick steering rack, 2.7 turns from lock to lock, unassisted :)|)
-Spax springs, Spax rear shocks
-2WD Cosworth front shocks
-Ford scorpio V6 front brakes
-Sierra Cosworth 3dr wheels, 205/55 rear 195/60 front.
-Possibly rear disc brakes

Things I still need are:

-New camshaft followers
-Front brake parts
-2" exhaust pipes
-Quite a bit of time/effort.

Hoping to have it on the road BY summer.. This is the decided spec list for next year, any changes will be minor.

Such is the nature of project cars :p Alot of us are in the same boat.

Yeah.. Im hoping that the fact that I might need the car to go work next summer will motivate me enough to get it done. :p

On topic: Found the bigger front brakes, Ford Scorpio V6 ABS front calipers and discs. 30?

Good luck!

I'm aiming to get my Caballero daily driveable by april. That means I need to basically rip out the entire interior, which also means I needs some decent weather (read: not raining)

The big brakes arrived today. Had to pay a little more than I expected, 85? incl. shipping, but I will also have disk brakes for the rear. I've always wanted to get rid of the rear drums, so that's nice. Also, im almost done with making a 2.7 lock-to-lock quick steering rack. The front of the car will be getting a bit of a touch up aswell, more on that tomorrow or on sunday :)

How are you making this quick steering rack?

Im taking the internals of a Ford Scorpio power assisted steering rack, and either fitting them into a stock Sierra rack, or plugging the PAS system off. The Scorpio rack is 2.7 turns from lock to lock, my original rack is 4.2 lock to lock. :)

As a thank you for all who voted for my car in the top 25 FG car vote (I didn't even know I was participating :)), Im posting another image dump on some of the stuff I'm up to with the car. The goal is to have it MOT'd/on the road with pretty much everything done by july. (watch me not make it :p). Anyway, pictures:

Arch liners, rear ones (dark blue) are from a Nissan bluebird Fohan, and the front ones (light blue) are original XR4i items. The Fohan ones are MUCH higher quality.

New Simota Filter, a bit too shiny for my tastes, but good quality.

DIY Cosworth front panel. To all of the Merkur people in the US who say it's hard to make :) Needs a lot of work yet, but it's getting there :) Fits perfect.

Finally got the keys for the wheels centers, had to order them from the UK, all the locks work! :)

I still think the wheels are the best thing about the car :)

A new office seat :)

Rust proof primer, got 6 cans for 10?

Some stickers. The small one will be placed in the front panel.

Rear wing sanding. No more rear wiper recess.

http://img43.imageshack.**/img43/4820/edistys014.jpg

Exhaust manifold modification. Need to shorten it a bit and modify one of the primaries.

Russian measuring device from 1987 for measuring the camshaft degrees & lift. Don't what it's called in english, it's "heittokello" in Finnish :)

Anyone know russian? :)

Don't have any pictures of the cylinder head work since it's at a friends garage who has an aircompressor and tools. The intake porting is almost done, havent started on the exhaust side yet.

Is the head getting skimmed at the same time?

Kind of appropriate really, the Cosworth had problems with head gaskets during development.

Yeah, skimmed as in lowered, 1.0-1.5mm. Need to consult about it. I'd like the compression to be 10.3-10.9

dial test indicator ;)

Exhaust manifold is welded back together, fits like a glove now. Still need to grind down the welds and weld a 2" exit on it. Intake manifold is now painted aswell. I'll post pics when the exhaust manifold is finished. :)

Intake manifold/other intake parts finished. Still need a "hose" for the air filter to draw air out of the front fender. Didn't manage to clean the intake manifold perfectly, but it'll do in a rush. :)

Exhaust side is also underway. The manifold now fits very well, and the exhaust reaches beyond the rear axle. The welds look like ass since I used an old rod welder, but they'll get cleaned up and migged tomorrow :)

I now just pretty much need the head to get the engine back together again :)

Bought a few things:

-Adjustable KONI Sport shocks for the front, need rebuilding, but only cost 30? (330? for 1 new one! :O)

-Kentcams FR30 cam, cost me 20?, it's very slightly worn, no idea why the guy sold it for so cheap? :)

-Also picking these up in the weekend:

Note: The tires ;)

i have some used oil filters laying around if you're interested!

Which ones should I fix up and get under the car for summer?
