Food! [The thread that started this section]

Is this the right thread for utensil talk? Because I just bought a pair of Wusthof Classic knives and oh my god they're the best knives I've ever used.

W?sthof knives are awesome...I have the 15 piece Grand Prix II set + a 7" santoku and I love them.

Y'know I actually managed to make a meal out of a bowl of green stuff and grated Cathedral City cheddar earlier.

Then being a fat-bastard I had Heinz spaghetti hoops on toast after that. XD

Soylent green with cheese? Sounds good.

I forget which thread it was in that terrible American breakfast dessert cereal was discussed... I had time for breakfast this morning which was unusual, so I had some of this and it was absolutely amazing.

Cathedral City is the best.

Now this isn't as high class or decedent as the other "What I'm eating in some kind of snooty restaurant" pic.

But still awesome...

On a completly unrelated note ... I?ve been making cottage pie again. With Bell pepper and bacon cubes for variation (and because they just had to go).

Well right around this time every year I start fantasizing about my first post lent dinner (April 18).... i.e. when I can eat meat again. I think I have settled on a nice juicy steak.

and why can't you eat meat right now?

Lent, I (and other Greek Orthodox Christians) abstain from eating animals with red blood (beef, pork, poultry), the products of animals with red blood (eggs, cheese, milk) and seafood with spines.

Lent, aka, faggotry.

Go fuck yourself.

That sounds kind of like being kosher except you don't do it all the time. Really, it's more like what Ethiopian Orthodox Christians do, but they do it two days a week all year in addition to lent.
