Disney Trademarks ?Seal Team 6?
In a perfect example of a big media company looking to capitalize on current events, The Walt Disney Company has trademarked ?Seal Team 6,? which also happens to be the name of the elite special forces team that killed Osama Bin Laden.
The trademark applications came on May 3rd, two days after the operation that killed Bin Laden? and two days after ?Seal Team 6? was included in thousands of news articles and TV programs focusing on the operation.
Disney?s trademark applications for ?Seal Team 6? cover clothing, footwear, headwear, toys, games and ?entertainment and education services,? among other things.
You can read the actual applications here, here and here.
Of course, for all we know Disney has been working on an animated feature about a team of anthropomorphic seals in search of adventure, but given the timing of the application that seems? unlikely.
Yeah, good luck with that. And Disney has trademarked Seal Team Six.
From your link.
Recent renaming
In a recent article, Marc Ambinder wrote that DEVGRU's designation had been changed by the Defense Department to a new name.[10] However, the new name is currently classified. This has also been the case for Delta Force, which was originally designated 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, and is now known as Army Compartmented Elements," or "ACE."
Bob Iger?s compound is very well protected, I asume ...And Disney has trademarked Seal Team Six.[...]
CIA team allowed to examine bin Laden compound
Washington (CNN) -- A CIA team of forensics specialists has been granted permission by the Pakistani government to visit the compound where Osama bin Laden was killed, to search for possibly hidden or buried documents, a U.S. official confirms to CNN.
The team will "gather up any additional information that can be found," the official said.
During the raid earlier this month, the Navy SEAL team was able to gather a substantial amount of intelligence documents and computer media during its 40-minute assault on the compound in Abbottabad. But the CIA has wanted to return to see if other material could be found.
Former Pakistan leader: U.S. showed "arrogance"
The team of agents also wants to have a close look at the compound to see what else it can learn about Bin Laden's stay there, the official said.
The agreement was reached several days ago by CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell and the Pakistani government. The official declined to say when the visit will happen and if more than one trip is planned.
They ought to (covertly - i.e. do not tell the ISI) plant microphones - you never know who the next incumbants of the property will be, so may be useful.
Former Pakistan leader said:U.S. showed "arrogance"
I don't know about arrogance, but incompetence or complicity? Definitely. Not that I think there was some massive conspiracy to hide him there, but some fairly important people, either civilian or military had to have known about bin Laden's presence. It's not like he was hiding out in a cave 50 miles from civilization.Oh, like you people have room to talk.
Task Force Ranger?which consisted of an assault force made up of US Army Delta Force, Ranger teams, an air element provided by the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, four Navy SEAL operators from SEAL Team Six and members of the Air Force Pararescue/Air Force Combat Controllers--under the command of Major General William F. Garrison executed an operation that involved traveling from their compound on the outskirts of the city to the center with the aim of capturing the leaders of the Habr Gidr clan, headed by warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid.
