This morning, I got bored, and recalculated the 2010 season standings using the 2003-2009 points system of 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. Not too many differences to note, I'll just post them without commentary. Drivers and constructors are listed in the order that they actually finished in 2010, with what their points total would have been under the 2003-2009 system.

Drivers
Sebastian Vettel: 104
Fernando Alonso: 101
Mark Webber: 97
Lewis Hamilton: 98
Jenson Button: 87
Felipe Massa: 51
Nico Rosberg: 49
Robert Kubica: 52
Muchael Schumacher: 25
Rubens Barrichello: 15
Adrian Sutil: 15
Kamui Kobayashi: 9
Vitaly Petrov: 9
Nico H?lkenberg: 6
Vitantonio Liuzzi: 5
S?bastian Buemi: 1
Pedro de la Rosa: 2
Nick Heidfeld: 1
Jaime Alguersuari: 0*

*-would not have scored under the 03-09 system, but did so under the 2010 system. Non-scoring drivers from either system not listed.

Constructors
Red Bull: 201
McLaren: 185
Ferrari: 152
Mercedes: 74
Renault: 61
Williams: 21
Force India: 20
Sauber: 11
Toro Rosso: 1

Non-scoring constructors from either system not listed.

Alonso should've won.

Alonso should've won.

RedBull's reliability problem gave you the chance to say "Alonso should've won". Vettel lost a number of race wins due to reliability issues.

Let's not go there again. It's history, it can't be changed anyway, get used to it. All this is is a thought exercise in terms of statistics, not something to try and push any kind of fanboy revisionism in terms of "coulda shoulda woulda".
