2011 Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada

Oh come on, this is hilarious, bringing out SC because it rains. F1 is becoming more and more of a joke, in the LeMans race they drive 340km/h in fog, and here they bring a SC because it rains. If it rains, get rain tires and drive carefully ffs, sissies.

And I thought they were being pussies for starting behind the safety car.

But lets face it, the endurance racers are proper nutters.

Sudden brainwave: Helmet with visor wipers!

LeMans cars are very very different to F1. If the rain intensifies and you drive over a puddle the car planks no matter how slow you go which means you'll basically sail rather than drive. Anyway, this race is really really exciting! :D

They're called turbo visors and they use them in karting, not F1 though.

You would shit your little pants driving just a normal car on a motorway in such a downpour. What the fuck are you supposed to do with 200mph cars that create so much spray you only see a white wall?

If someone would crash and injure themselves...oh then it'd be like hurr FIA durr no safety durr.

So the airflow spins the UFO and less rain 'sticks' to the visor? First time i've seen this. :|

Exactly. Here's a video of it in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXwboWKHGZg

Wow, the track looks like a lake, Charlie definetely did the right thing with the safety cars.

Also, we've lost Brundle and Coulthard, no commentary for now. No idea what the heck happened.

How about that incident between Hamilton and Button?

I think it was entirely Hamilton's fault.

Also, apparently Button was penalized for "speeding under safety car" because that retard in the white/orange/green car wouldn't let off the throttle. They said they will investigate the crash between Button and Hamilton after the race, but I think Button has been penalized enough this race.

Eventhough you got a point, content-wise, the "you would shit your little pants" tough guy attitude is not how we treat each other at FinalGear. Even in the F1 section. But as we are talking about D-Fence, i'd epect you entering a world of pain...

EDIT: W0000t! Mercedes GP brought an EZ-UP! Quick thinking!

Placing bets on who puts on shorts and flipflops to head to the team fridge to grab an ice cream, so boys who will it be?

I think we can all accept that these cars are undriveable in conditions like this. Which means the question becomes, have these cars become too specialised? If the race has to be stopped during a downpour then perhaps these cars need to be lifted a bit.

Although I guess it's always been an issue. And Montreal is obviously a special case with the limited drainage.

I"m waiting for Ninja attack on Vettel from Koba on restart! :D

I miss Kimi :D

Niki Lauda is hating on Hamilton so much :D

"If you look at Vettel, what do you see?" "A normal young man". "Correct. If you look at Hamilton, what do you see?" "Same?" "Hell no. I see a guy who grows a new beard every day, a maniac, he has that Beckham syndrome."

Oh grow up there was no tough guy attitude, why must you always pick on the Ferrari fans?

Cool shit there at the video, the drivers in that race are good. At the very least, BBC coverage without commentary is still better than ESPN Star Sports, and i have to bloody pay for TV coverage.

Hahaha  I kinda miss the biased RTL commentary I had while in Germany.

Here you forgot to quote this guy in the attitude check

Glad to be of service

What a piece of shit now the cars that hadn't pitted can change tyres.

Hamilton being interviewed, Of course, both accidents were entirely not his fault...
Actually, I agree that in the first corner, he just had understeer and bumped into Webber. Of course, it's his fault for driving too fast into the corner, but that can happen in a race. The incident with Button though - he must have known a) that Button could not see him in the mirror and b) where the racing line is and therefore that Button would drive too close to the wall to overtake there.
