Ownership Verified: My 1990 Mitsubishi Sapporo

Why don't you replace the spoiler screws with brass or copper ones? We did it at home for to roof after all the "rust-proof" screws rusted away and after a similar amount of time the brass ones are still in perfect condition.

They don't come off all that easy, they seem to be embedded.

A spoiler, yesterday.

The front left had a leak, so I thought I'd swap the spare under and have the tyre fixed.

Wait, what? The Sapporo's bolt pattern is 4x114,3 and the spare that was in the boot was something closer to 4x100; if it's from a '84 Seat Ibiza like I think it is, it's 4x98. Nice work. Good job I didn't get stranded earlier.

Had the leaky tyre looked over, and the leak was apparently caused by a dodgy wheel weight that let air out from between the tyre and the rim. Didn't cost a lot to put right.

In the end, I went to the trouble of changing on tidier nuts on every wheel; these were the ones that came with the Galant EA97 wheels.

Yeah, I need the complete jack/tools/spare set anyway.

Edit: wooo 5000 posts

Ordered a spacesaver spare tyre from the salvage vehicle centre. 125/70R15, it's from a Galant V6 STW. 25 euro, I think it's bearable.

Now, that's more like it.

Cleaned up the spare (and the spare wheel well) and screwed it in.

Also, the spoiler is on. It turned out pretty good; not perfect, but even up close it doesn't look like it's been ghetto as hell and then fixed and painted.

The front lip is also fixed. Will probably re-do it later, but it's alright for now.

I haven't cleaned it further from last page, as I'd like to have it properly steamwashed at this point to reach spots I can't reach.

from the pics, it looks pretty good job on both parts

Hell yeah, now the A/C blows cold air like never before. Thanks to DaBoom for the coolguy tip.

Edit: for future note, the refridgerant was R413a.

I also called about a replacement header heatshield, and an original Mitsubishi one is 67 euro from the "diamond counter". Even if it's only a piece of metal, I could pay that for a spotless, straight one.

Since I had pretty much managed to wear the front tires completely (3mm left on the rear ones, so not much left there either), I bought a set of Tigars for 300 eur. 195/65R15, so the profile is a bit higher than on the Nokians. Let's see 1) how comfortable they are 2) how they are handling-wise 3) how the speedometer error is affected. Will be driving around southern Sweden for a week, so all of the above questions can probably be answered.

There is more than one on the road :O

And these rear seats look like you sit in them and instantly fall asleep because of comfyness - I like these supersoft seats :D

Also, thread hijacking.... make your own thread for your sapporo. And post better pics of the engine bay please. :)
