75 VW Jeans

That's a great stance for that car!

Suspension looks very corroded.

it's from 75, it's supposed to be corroded. Not that I think you care, beyond the fact that you only wanted to point out something that you meant was of substance, it's only a little surface rust.

Thanks for noticing :) I'm going for that Cal-look. (Even though the car is way too new, so the correct term would probably be "late looker")

He has an Opel Astra, they don't do surface rust.

it just goes from crap metal to straight through rust, I know

Hehe, i do care actually. How about some sanding and a bit of paint? And yes, my car rusts faster than yours :)

The thing is I picked it up last summer, and didn't have the time to use it. Put it in a barn for the winter. I just had it on "EU controll", (health and safety regulations, or it will get plates clipped) and didn't go through. Did fix the problem, just a wheel bearing and some light adjustments. Once it has gone through, I will loook into details. Not sure if I will focus on a part that doesn't show much, and as long as it's not dangerously rusted I don't care much. I have owned multiple bugs and old aircooled vws, so I knwo how I like 'em. It's supposed to be a low cost project.. we'll see. Thanks for caring ;)

i would be the other way around...how cares there's some surface rust on the hood or roof. it's the hinges and where the engine/suspension bolts to the car that should be rust free

Read my post again, did I say anything about not caring about "suspension/ bolts?" No. I was replying to nicjasnos comment on the surface rust on the front beam. All of the places that needs to be rust free and of strong metal, such as the upper part where the shock absorber goes (typical rust place) and where the two arms goes over to the (dropped) spindles - those are fine and rust free. The guy at the EU controll even pointed thos eplaces out as typically fine points on the front suspension. I just took the whole suspension apart and inspected every nook and cranny. It's all good. The channels are also fine, I even even replaced the drivers side outer channel last summer after I bought it. I don't think there are 100% surface rust free VW bug front beams out there, that has actually been on the road.

I went 135 front tires. No driving in the rain for me! Very narrow surface on those.. But they work fine, as they don't rub the fenders when i turn left or right, as I have drops spindles.

Rubbed on some back to black stuff also..

Extra lights, hot or not? I thinking maybe.. not. Very right for the car, for that time though.

In my opinion it looks better without the lights.

That first image is giving me an eye strain, at first I thought it was concave D:

narrow tires dont aquaplane as much, so why not driving in the rain?

@ JipJopJones: thanks for input :)

@ Blayde::lol:

@ sifu, well that's about the only goode thing about these narrow tires, but I mean -narrow tires is ONE thing, but 135 tires are next to bicycle thin.. Imagine the car trying to emergency stop from 90 km/h with tires that thin, and in the wet? Ugh.. I'm not going to seek driving in the wet.

Took this today:
