m/s/s = metres per second per second = metres per second squared.
 
It's easier if you read it from left to right, so it's equivalent to (m/s)/s. Oh look, it's the funny picture thread all over again :p.
 
Well I would never, ever write m/s^2 as m/s/s. As that is dividing m/s by s, which is m.s/s - metres per second per second is right, yes, but fractions don't work by just continuously stacking things on each other; there is only one numerator and one denominator.

And indeed - we're back to how the funny pictar thread should be! :lol:
 
it's correct to say, but to write you should write m/s^2, saying m/s/s is like m/s / s/1 which is m/s * 1/s which is m/s^2, which is technically valid, but not good practice
 
Enough with the maths, I have to go to school in about twenty minutes. I need some funneh to start the day.
