This is a gimmick, a very stupid one, but a gimmick.
Some guy came up with it and decided to market it to mom's watching the shopping channel thinking their kids would like it = guy make's money, nothing more, nothing less,
Don't throw some ecoconservatist bullshit at it because frankly I think this world has bigger enviromental issues than some plastic hotdogcutter.....

If we would ban everything we don't need we will all be living in huts growing our own food walking everywhere, how much resources go into making one of your trains for example? A boatload more than a bit of plastic 'nothing' cutting hotdogs.
Do they serve a purpose other than entertainment? Didn't think so.

Ummm... yes?

I don't wanna spoil anyone's business model but in my opinion we reached a point in our development, where we should start being careful with what to use the oil for. I practice it in my kitchen already: I have no plastic stuff in there, only metal, wood, glass and pottery.

Just my two cents of course...
