I've built a no-budget mini studio in my room, and here's the first result:

Now, why the ugly brown backdrop, you might ask? It's not actually brown, it's dark forest green. However, my camera for the life of it would not process it as anything but brown. Which annoys teh hell out of me and leads me to believe that there's something fundamentally wrong with my camera. (well, other than the sensor problems that look like lit pixels, fortunately I can at least edit those out.)
 
What backlight do you have? is it those typical halogen lights? because those lights shoots out this orangey color.

Try using a flourescent tube or that style.

Hmm, I tried both halogen and incandescent lights and got the same result. I don't have a small fluorescent light, I might have to get one.

Color Efex is a nice tool, but liberal use can have negative effects. The top of that sky looks too blue, it clashes with the lighting in the rest of the picture. It also is such a strong shade of blue that it draws the viewer's eyes away from the subject of the photo.
