I also hear Pagani had a hand in the JFK assassination...The Koenigsegg was given a slower time than it performed when they tested it back in series 2, Pagani apparantly made a deal with Top Gear... anyway...
POWERRR!! said:i only have one thing to say about the koenigsegg. and that is, i am glad it is no longer the fastest road car in the world! it beat the mclaren f1 by what? 1 mph? 1 mph is nothing! 1 mph can be gained by eating less donuts! that is why for some time back there, i refused to acknowledge that something called a koenigsegg is the fastest car. how dare those bunch of suites from sweden take the mclaren's thunder away!
the bugatti however, does have pedigree and history! that's what makes it worthy of taking the crown from the mclaren f1.
LoneWolf said:Some valid points. But remember that it's a supercar, and reliability isn't one of the strong points in this category. I mean, the Italians are world leaders in terms of supercars, and I don't the word 'reliability' appears in the Italian dictionary!
oliB said:Well, if you consider 2,5 seconds to 62mph and 7.3 seconds to 124 slow, then yes.
Furthermore, the Veyron has 7 gears so there's less need for tall gearing. Even if there would be a problem, the Veyron would have a lot of torque to compensate that.
Kebab gud said:PS: i also heard that Cristian von Koenigsegg didnt want Top gear to test the CCR untill he was ready.. (rumor) if that is true .. then he wants the track record .. he always gets what he wants..
Kebab gud said:NEVER trust the maker.. the CCR has been confirmd as the fastes by 2 diffrent testing groups
the Veyron only by VW own people..
and the Saleen .. just a yanks dream..
Also weighs over 2 Tonnes wet, so I doubt its going to be blisteringly fast when it needs to change direction! 4wd or no 4wd theres still too much lag by all accounts!
maximus said:Yeah right. The same Gumball car that broke down every 2 seconds?

Uh, no it doesn't? It weighs 1.88tonnes. Very clever 4WD and the weight pressing down on the tyres would give a lot of grip, even though it does have 1001HP.
EVO Magazine said:A front/rear balance of 45/55 sounds pretty good, but according to Dr Schreiber the quoted 1888 kg kerb weight is in fact a dry weight. To get a truer figure you need to allow 100 liters of fuel, 40 litres of water for engine cooling, 15 litres of water for the twin chargecooler circuit, 20 litres of engine oil, a further 22litres for the gearbox and another 15 litres litres for hydralics, brakes, etc. That puts the weight closer to 2100 kg. Dr Schreiber admits the figure was alot higher(!) but they've taken nearly 200 kg out of the car since 2003. Still, there's 1155kg over the rear axle, and that over 13 kg more than the total kerb weight of a McLaren F1.
Nogger said:The Koenigsegg is avalible in a setup called "Ring Domination". How cool is that!?
vanMould said:Add about 100 kg of driver to that and it's not very far from twice the weight of a Koenigsegg (1175 kg for the CC8S, 1180 kg for the CCR) and it's easily more that four Atoms.
Plus I think VAG is cheating. They're just about the only bloody manufacturer on the planet who can afford to sell a car like that for a 6th of its production cost. The only reason that the Veyron exists is that VAG want's to be absolutely best to every price, killing off honest and hard working contractor such as Christian von Koenigsegg.
