Yea, I know I'm raising this thread from the dead. But, with no new Top Gears till spring I've been watching some of the older episodes, and I want to know about this too.... Anyone have any idea about the Silicon Carbide joke?
Clarkson was calling the Germans geeky, if not in so many words.
he was saying that he was looking at the CGT from a german's point of view, so he was getting turned on by silicon carbide

omg. I just watched this again, came to this thread, and when I saw the comment by reboot that he was calling the Germans 'geeky', I had a flash of insight.

I think he's saying they're anal. You know. Attention to detail to the point where one becomes a pain in the butt. Hence the diarrhoea.

After a 7 year thread hiatus lol
